Do Air Purifiers Help with Dust?

Air smells so clean and fresh. This air purifier is quiet and very effective. The highest fan setting is a bit louder, but that is to be expected. Works Great So Far! I bought this mainly to combat my husband’s second hand smoke. I have it sitting right by him where he usually sits and turn it on at night when he is home. It seems to help somewhat on the low setting but it really works great on the medium setting. Only problem is that it is a little loud on medium. So the bottom line is it works for what I bought it for. I have not used the UV setting on it yet.

Very effective! I have owned two other heap filters previously but decided to purchase this one as it seemed to offer better filtration and more power. It has so far outperformed the other ones I owned and noticed a significant difference during the height of allergy season!

This does help,my bedroom smells different not that it stunk before but there is a difference. I wake up less stuffy, sleep sounder. The noise is minimal and actually soothing. Good quality -noisier than my other GermGuardian. To rate with “Like or Dislike” not specific enough. This purifier does not the UV light, so it in not really a “Germ” Guardian. It is effective and most likely will last like my other GermGuardian with the UV light, but Medium “II” is too noisy and the “I” is quiet sleep mode and the fan barely moves the air. It would not be good for a bedroom. I will use it in the kitchen/family room combo, but even there is noisy for hearing the TV.

I didn’t have anything happen at all even when right next to it, though. After setup, it really was just the waiting game. I don’t know why it took me so long to get one, because this purifier is wonderful. It blows out all the cool, fresh air, and sucks up the bad stuff. So far works great. I received the Homedics Air Purifier at the end of my family having COVID when we were cleaning our sheets, wiping the couches etc to try and remove left over virus. The air Purifier is very quiet, that I had to check if it was on, and has a place for essential oils to circulate the room if desired. The buttons on top are touch and not something you actually have to depress. My dog happened to use the bathroom in our kitchen so I used the air Purifier in the kitchen to help reduce the smell and it helped but it didn’t eliminate the odor.

My home did not smell like a restaurant anymore. Living in South Louisiana is a blessing when it comes to having fresh seafood. It also means that your home will often smell like a Seafood Restaurant. Well I put the HoMedics Air Purifier on the other day when I was cooking our favorite fried seafood dishes and my home did not smell like a restaurant at all. You really could not even tell that I had cooked anything. I put some scented oil on the pads they provide but for me I really can not say that I smell the scent very well but that is ok with me, maybe I just didn’t put enough on the pad. HoMedics 5-in-1 Air Purifier. We have an old farmhouse so some of the closets leave a less than desirable odor on the clothes if they haven’t been worn for a while.
I’ve tried various laundry soaps, softener and dryer sheets but I couldn’t keep that fresh out of the dryer scent so I thought I would try a small air purifier.
I love it! And it’s so quiet at night that I can fall asleep from the humming sound and also that I can put Essential oils in and it gives off a light sent which is not overwhelming but makes our clothes smell fresh and clean every morning regardless of how long they have sat in the closet.
We had originally ordered it just for the closet but after leaving the door open by accident a couple of times we have found it is powerful enough to clean and freshen the air in the bedroom as well
I love the fact that you can add your preference to the scent pad to make it as bold or light as you desire.
Then there is the built-in night light, no more stumbling to the closet in the morning trying not to wake my husband on the weekend.
Definitely two thumbs up!

Really nice HEPA. HEPA filters definitely work and really improve air quality. I can save you some reading and tell you up front that we are highly satisfied with this HoMedics total clean filter. It’s an excellent filter for a smallish room. The filter is whisper quiet on the lower fan settings, but there is much more noise on the highest setting. It’s a bit more like a white noise machine on high. Not intrusive, but not whisper quiet. This machine definitely reduces odors. It’s probably the most effective machine we have had for odors. The buttons or controls are positive and work well and the light controls are a great touch. You can change between a night-light to just the controls buttons lit to a blacked out with no lights on. We didn’t try the essential oils function, but it looks simple to use. I will say that you should heed the room size specifications. If I were to change anything about this filter, I would get a larger one. Not that there’s anything wrong with the filter, just my room is a bit larger than the recommended room size. This is a really nice filter and I do recommend it.

I am completely blown away. When I first opened the unit I was immediately aware of how well constructed it is. It’s not some lightweight piece of junk like others sell. I unpacked everything and took all the plastic off I found the charger which is transported inside the air filter plugged it in turned it on and that’s it. It immediately cycled through the modes that it operates under determining the best most suitable mode to run in my home! That just blew my mind. No programming no setting anything It just knows what to do. You can however select the mode you would like to use and it does have a timer which I think would be wonderful to have. I no longer have to turn off air filter when I go to bed. I plan to use this in my home since this is being purchased as replacement for a Hamilton Beach unit that I’ve had for 3 years. Even on its highest fan setting It is incredibly quiet which is a definite improvement over other units I had looked at. The air filter is really easy to remove since it inserts from the bottom of the unit. Once I turned it on it defaulted to the blue color indicator signifying the air quality on my home is considered to be very good.. Love the fact that it has an auto mode for the fan and will adjust it according to what it senses in the air. That means through all four seasons I simply won’t have to worry about anything but cleaning the filter when necessary. That will be easily accomplished using my vacuum cleaner. Like any other HEPAA filter please make sure you do not wash the filter with water. Clean up should be a breeze on the outside by simply wiping down with a dry cloth.

Finally after plugging it in turning it on and learning everything about it I decided to look at the user’s manual which is clear, easy to read and understand. I doubt if I’ll ever need to look at it again but it’s nice to know it’s there! I could not possibly be happier with the quality of this machine. I’m giving it five stars simply because I cannot give it six!

Solid and works perfectly! So excited to get our Air Purifier with H13 True HEPA AIR Filter. First impressions was easy to set up, no complicated instructions. Just remove the plastic from the filter and reinsert it the bottom. Lock it in place then plug it in. The little red light came on as instructed. As I pushed to turn it on I found it super quiet. If I turn the fan up higher to 4 it does sound louder but no more than a regular fan. Now how does it do. It is digital settings so there are no knobs etc to switch. Just touch the touch screen. I put in master bedroom and so far is on blue which mean good air quality. I set the timer for 6 hours and it flashes from F1 to 6 back and forth. It is working, it is slowly counting down each hour. So that works. I moved to kitchen and it did work on eliminating the cooking smells. So that works. The size is 24 1/2 by 8 1/2 square. The hepa filter is a large 7 1/2 by 23 1/2 inches so really good size! This is a very well made machine. It is sturdy and lightweight . Clears dust and allergens up to 1290 sq. ft. I definitely recommend this unit. I love it and love how solid it is. Love how it tells you the air quality. Air purifier will help with allergies for us and our dog.

Attractive High Quality filter with added features. This is a very nice, attractive, filter with a lot of features.
When first powered up the air quality indicator flashes and cycles through the levels while sampling the current air quality of the room and the fans runs at high speed.
Once finished it then settles into Auto mode, as indicated as “A” on the display, and sets the appropriate levels automatically.
If desired you may also manually select fan speeds to low, medium, high or turbo.
There is also a timer which allows you to set the run time from 1 to 12 hours.
The “Sleep Mode” setting sets the unit to low fan speed and turns off all but one very dim display light.
A Filter Replace Indicator light notifies you of when the HEPA H13 Filter needs to be replaced (About 3000 hours under normal conditions).
There is also a pre-filter for catching the larger particles which helps give the HEPA a longer life.
The included manual explains all features and is easy to understand and follow.
The power adapter is shipped inside the filter of the unit which is easily removed.
Read and follow the directions and the manual before first use for the best experience.
The filter is heavy for it’s size and appears to be of high quality. They even added a tiny access door for cleaning the air sampler intake.
I like this filter a lot and have no doubt it will help keep the air in our home more pollution free. I do recommend it.

Quiet. The Dr. J Professional Air Purifier shipped out very quickly. It was packed well. I found the booklet and such in the bottom of the unit. The instructions were easy to follow. It takes up little space compared to the air purifier I had before, which I really like. I was pleased to find that after it ran through its startup cycle it classed the quality of the air in my home as very good with the blue light. What I like best of all is how quiet it is. I can barely hear it when it is running. I do believe if the air quality in my home was not so good, it might run louder as it cleans.

This thing is awesome!!! This thing is awesome for people with allergies! I’ve been sneezing for MONTHS. Finally had enough when I had a sneeze attack at 3am. Went and got this that day and I have not sneezed since. I set it to turn on from 8pm to 8am so it clears the air before I go to bed and while I sleep but you can leave it go all day. App is awesome! Tells you the filter life, and you can control it from the app. Also side note it has a plant tracker and will tell you when to water your plants as well which I found awesome! So glad I bought this. I feel 100% better. ZERO sneezing and coughing now due to allergies.

Great for the air. Very quiet and easy to setup. I love when I can easily power on a product that’s so essential and the removal of the filter is also easy peasy. I left it on for a few hours when I first got it and did other tasks around the house as it cleaned my air.

Great Air Purifier! I used this GermGuardian Air Purifier upstairs at our lake house – which has a tendency to smell musty after being closed up for the season and it worked like a charm. Cleared the musty smell out in a few hours. I love that it’s fairly unobtrusive and quiet when running. It’s a keeper!

Works very well! I got this to replace an old air purifier that only filters from back to front, and I have to say this one does a lot better job. By pulling in air from all directions, it cleans more volume of air in a shorter amount of time. I can breathe a lot better now and don’t wake up in the middle of the night needing more allergy medication. Aesthetically, it looks much nicer as well. Instead of an ugly black “brick”, now I have a nice looking addition to the room. The quality of the pre-filter looks a lot better too, I can tell that it will filter better and last longer than the old ones. I am very pleased with his air filter, but my allergies hate it! XD
