Unbelievable – immediate results after one use. I am 25 and have had adult acne for the last 3 years. Nothing I’ve tried has worked – ProActiv, various creams from my dermatologist including Retin-A, Differin, and Benzaclyn. I’ve used EVERYTHING. I ordered this kit thinking it was a great value for three full size products – a great savings and an easy way to try the system. I counted down the days until the kit arrived, which was only four business days. I immediately used products that night and I’ve woken up this morning to a face that is already noticeably more clear. I had several cystic acne bumps as well as surface pimples around my chin and mouth. The buffering lotion is amazing – the cystic spots are already reduced in size and depth. The painful soreness of them is already gone as well. The whiteheads after using the drying cream lotion are well, ALREADY GONE! I can’t believe the outstanding results from this kit. Best Cleanser, Hands Down! My battle with acne is fairly recentblame an incompatible birth control for spiking its riseand I tried everything I could get my hands on to combat it. Natural cleansers, fully loaded creamyou name it, I tried it. I finally heard about Mario Badescu and got this cleanser as a sample with my acne repair kit and immediately fell in love. My skin is almost back to the clearness it was before the break-outs started, and I can feel how clean my skin gets after each use! A must have for anyone struggling with acne!

Just As Good As Proactiv. I would recommend AcneFree to ANYONE that is looking for an over the counter acne treatment that works just as good as Proactiv does. I’ve been using it for a little over a year and I am very pleased. Just like Proactiv, only cheaper.

I haven’t had regular acne for a while (since I was a teenager), but recently I had a really bad cystic acne flareup. I’m a pretty low maintenance person so usually I just use a gentle face wash followed up with a moisturizer and sunscreen. That wasn’t cutting it with this most recent breakout that was the type of acne that was both painful and prone to scarring. It wasn’t going away on its own like it usually does and I had 3-4 really painful ones so I decided to pick up this kit.I do have sensitive skin but I’m not allergic to benzoyl peroxide, which is the active ingredient in this kit. I have used Proactiv in the past but it stopped working for me and I didn’t feel like getting caught up in the auto-billing practices from ordering on their main site. I also found Proactiv to be a lot more expensive at other retailers. After Proactiv stopped working for me, I went with a “less is more” approach to my acne and I mostly outgrew it before this most recent breakout. I wanted to see what else was out there and saw that this kit had a lot of positive feedback and wanted to give it a try.General overview of each product in the kit:Cleanser: If you like the beads in the Proactiv cleanser, you probably won’t be a fan of this facewash. There is a slight “grit” to it, but nothing like the beads in the Proactiv cleanser. It’s pretty drying so I wouldn’t use it every day. It left my face with that “squeaky-clean” feeling that feels like I over-washed my face. Definitely use a good moisturizer with this facewash.Toner: Worst product of the bunch. All you can smell is the alcohol. I would either switch it out for a different toner if you really want to follow the routine, or only use it on active pimples. Alcohol is actually a great disinfectant but I wouldn’t use it on my whole face. The Proactiv toner is definitely superior to this since that uses the pricier glycolic acid base.Lotion: Comparable to the Proactiv lotion. As other reviewers have mentioned, I would use this sparingly as well. It can be drying if you apply this to your whole face, instead of just active pimples. I found this less drying than the facewash though. As long as I use it sparingly, I can use the lotion daily with minimal dryness, but if I use the cleanser everyday the dryness is out of control.Routine:I only use the cleanser 1-2 times a week and use another sensitive skin facewash daily. If I use the cleanser anymore then that, the dryness gets out of control. Not just flakiness, but the type of dryness where it burns if you apply lotion on it. I do have sensitive skin, but I never had that type of dryness when I was on Proactiv (just general flakiness). I believe Proactiv only has 2.7% benzoyl peroxide in it vs the 3.7% in this kit. 3.7% is a bit high for me to apply to my entire face but works well applied sparingly to active pimples. I usually skip the toner or only apply it to active pimples. I use the lotion daily on any acne-prone places and active pimples, but not my whole face. I always followup with a moisturizer and a sunscreen.Purging period: As others have mentioned, I did experience a pretty bad purging period when I first started using the kit. It brought out cystic acne in places that I usually don’t get it like on the far sides of my cheeks near my ears. It definitely gets worse at first before it gets better. The acne did eventually all go away but did leave brown marks behind that are going to take a while to fade. There also was the severe dryness I mentioned above, until I learned to get the “dosage” right for my skin.General opinion/recommendation:I would purchase the kit again if I was on a budget because it will do in a pinch, but I will probably search for something better. I feel like it does make my acne go away but it’s pretty harsh on my skin and I don’t feel like I can use it as part of my daily routine for a long period of time. I would be interested to try the “sensitive skin” version of the kit in the future to see how it compare. Right now I’m just going to finish up the remainder of this kit before introducing other items into my skincare routine.

Actually works. I am very satisfied with this product. It works well and fast. My order got to me 2 days after ordering, I am very pleased.

Does exactly what it says but takes some time. Ok so I am nearing the end of my first box and all I have to say is wow this stuff actually worked. My first box lasted since September (it’s now November). At first I was very skeptical of using this because I used equate before this and it did nothing. I would say about the first 5-7 days I started using this, it did burn and cause discomfort but that went away after that time period. Like mentioned in the title, IT DOES TAKE TIME. the box says 24 hours but don’t expect immediate results as it took 2 weeks before I could really tell a difference. I love this stuff and it works great. I can even miss a day or two of washing with this and I still only get one or two pimples. Also I recommend getting the deep cleansing duo. The brush really helps get into your pores better than using your dirty hands to rub it in. Another thing to note it that if you have really bad acne then get the severe kit and if you have sensitive skin like me get the sensitive. I only got the regular cause I needed the acne I had gone and undercontrol. I just bought the sensitive version for my second box and I’m hoping that I can manage acne and not get rid of it, as the regular does make your skin very dry and I hate using moisturizers on my face. I also bought the terminator 10 to zap away sudden pimples that come up. I’ll also put a review up for the sensitive and terminator 10 when I finish them, as I think that’s a long enough time to judge if they work or not. Overall I recommend
these kits they work great and usually you can find a cupon for them.

Consistently clear skin. My daughter (19) uses this product. She generally has a good complexion with a few outbreaks. This product seems to control the acne completely, – out breaks are no more! She has been using this product for 1+ year.
My son (22) uses the “sensitive skin” formula, ( the active ingredient is different.) His acne problem is more serious. The acne med hasn’t completely cleared his skin up, but it is MUCH better!

So I’ve only used this system for 3 three days as the packaging instructs and I already can see a difference. My skin is softer, whiteheads are easier to extract, and redness has decreased by a whole lot. I have hormonal, adult acne with oily/combination skin and usually have about three breakouts at one time. I am super excited to see if this system will be able to prevent breakouts from occurring.Update: Ok so I’ve used this for a few weeks now and took off a star. First, this became super drying. I’m talking about peach fuzz all over the face drying. Peeling tiny particles of skin off my face drying. My makeup applied even worse with this vs applying makeup to a face with breakouts on it. So I’ve now started to use this every other day.Second, when you get breakouts, the healing process is super slow. I forgot to wash my face one night and woke up to three new breakouts. I started to use the lotion as a spot treatment but my stubborn acne did not budge. The lotion helped to keep the size of the zit down but it took an entire 8 days for the zit to go away. Until then, there was a medium size, very noticeable bump on my face. So this is not for people who want rapid results. There are drugstore spot treatment options that perform much better.So I love the system for preventing breakouts but hate the dry skin I get after using this.

Best bet for stopping breakouts in their tracks. When I find something I like, I am brand loyal. The drying lotion works great for spot treatments and I’ve been using it for years. I thought I’d try the whole acne repair kit, even though I don’t have acne, but for me, I think the drying lotion alone is sufficient for individual breakouts. It does dry out the whole area so I use extra moisturizer and within days, regular moisture levels return; it’s a small price to pay for the effectiveness.

Perfect! I’ve always struggled with acne, but now I’ve finally found a product that works! After just one week, my skin looked a million times more clear and felt incredibly soft. The products don’t dry out your skin, and at the same time they don’t leave any oily residue. Just stick to the routine, and it really works!

Best acne kit ever. Hands down, first time I used it when I was 17, cleared up all of my acne in the first week. It was a miracle, I had acne all over my cheeks and this was the only thing that worked. Back then, it was around $13 so super affordable monthly. The price has been creeping up on recent years. Goodbye Cystic Acne. At the age of 65 I still have cystic acne on my chin area. Still get those painful red bumps. I used buffering lotion only for a few days and could feel and see reduction in all the bumps. I know alternate with the drying cream and drying lotion every night and am so excited that my chin is almost clear. First time in years that I don’t have a mess in my chin!!

I have painful cystic acne and sensitive skin. I’ve had allergic reactions to other products like this, such as equate. This is the only one that doesn’t give me a burning rash.

After I started using this product years ago, people quickly started commenting about how clear my skin looks. I mean I still have flare ups around my period, but this quickly subdued it.

This stuff calms down my inflamed acne and disinfects any open acne wounds until the cyst comes out so it can close up and heal finally.

I have to be attentive to the state my skin is in though. If my skin is too sensitive and over producing oil, I skip the lotion. Too dry? I skin the toner. Dry and sensitive? I skip the cleanser and use something softer.

This product has bleaching properties so be careful with clothes and spot treating.

I paid more for whats it worth! Did not know it was a starter kit for 35.00$ I didnt notice that it said starter kit thats a lot of money for a small item and when it came I was highly upset I usually get the normal size for that amount of money I feel like I was played for my money cause for one it didnt have any thing pictured stating it was a trial size as you can see from the picture above for that amount of money it should have been bigger than that!

KILLING MY CYSTIC ACNE!!!! I have been desperate since September 2020 to get rid of a Cystic Acne spot on my neck.
I have used a multitude of products that I dare not list for fear of retaliation(kidding).

I do not have an issue with acne, so much as cystic acne, something that plagues women of color. And the ingrown hairs, too. Those hors-moning(hormones) will destroy the fiercest of confidence.
But this magic potion line is the Bellerophon of acne. It get’s deep, and you can feel it fighting the Chimera that is, cystic acne.

And do as the direction say, put it on, an rinse it off twice. You will feel a tingling sensation, that’s when you know to wash. Put it back on, feel the tingle, rinse off. No scrubbing or washing tools like scrubbing brushes and “rags” needed.

When I put the acne fighting lotion on, Oh, the way it makes my skin feel. You will not have that tight stripped shiny clean, and yet you will not have the feeling of “product”on your face. Great product for Inflammatory acne! I bought proactive for my daughter and it burned her face! I felt so horrible! So, I realized that there are different kinds of acne that require different active ingredients. I looked up the different kinds of acne and realized that my daughter had inflammatory acne and not cystic. Inflammatory acne is best treated with Benzyl peroxide. This product cleared her face up so fast and keeps her face acne free. She can not be without it! I felt so relieved to get her the right face wash so that her face did not hurt anymore. Makes sure you know what kind of acne you have so that you can get the right treatment!

My go to face wash! I love this face wash. I have super temperamental combination skin, and this is the only stuff does the trick for me. I used to use Proactiv, but the price point on this wash is way better and it does the same thing. I repurchase about every other month.

I’ve been using these products for awhile now and it’s really made the difference. I wouldn’t recommend this product to someone with dry or super sensitive skin, but it definitely wouldn’t cause any problems when used occasionally. I’ve found it to be drying when used regularly, especially the lotion, but it does wonders alone. Using a moisturizing face lotion along with these products has worked perfectly for me and has not dried out my skin. This routine has cleared up 99.9% of my acne, but I have noticed that you do have to keep up with it to maintain clear skin. These products are also non-scented, which is great for someone with sensitive skin and just your face in general. I use this along with spot treatment and my skin has never looked better! Not to mention these products are also fast-acting, giving results overnight unlike many other acne products that require months worth of use. Worth more than what you’re paying for!Reading through other reviews, this product is definitely controversial and not for everyone. The active ingredient is benzoyl peroxide, which can explain why it has given different people different reactions. If someone has never used benzoyl peroxide on their skin it can be very intense and it’s definitely capable of making your skin worse. If you use this product with no previous acne medication use or apply these products too often it can easily cause burns, irritation, or rashes. These side effects are common, it’s just your skin telling you the medication is too strong and harsh. When buying acne medication, the best thing you can do is research and patch tests. This way you will be able to find what works best for you. Salicylic acid is another active ingredient used in acne products that could also give someone the same bad reaction. Most of the time these reactions happen either because you’re skin is not familiar with these products or just not susceptible to the specific medication. I’ve had a past with both benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid, coming to a conclusion benzoyl peroxide is best for my skin. That is not the case for others though, everyone’s skin is different and the same product will work differently on different people with different skin types. The average percentage to start on benzoyl peroxide is 2.5%. The acne lotion contains 3.7% which can be damaging and drying if you do not slowly ease into it or if your skin is not familiar with benzoyl peroxide and this percentage. Some that have come across issues used these products daily, even twice a day. This will easily harm your skin just because of how intensifying it is. Even though this is not a prescription drug and is available to anyone, it is definitely not made for everyone and can be extreme and harsh. A moisturizing face lotion is your best friend while using these products because they are drying and will absorb your natural oils, even for someone that does not have dry skin. I would definitely recommend to ease into these products and determine what is best for your individual skin for the best results. I do not believe this is a good product for first-time acne medication users just because of the strength. This product is definitely best for someone that knows their skin and has knowledge about acne medication and how it’s used. If this product is used correctly it will show correct results.

I have tried EVERYTHING for my acne. EVERYTHING. Nuetrogena, La Roche-Posay, Differin Gel, Alba Botanica’s acne dote, random stuff from the store, a mix of cetiphil soap and hibbacleanse (is that how you spell it?), and even nothing at all. Everything either gave me a permanent sunburn, made my skin peel/flake, or gave me more acne. Ever since I was 12 years old, I’ve been searching and searching for the right product. I think this is it. I ordered the regular strength travel size, and I love it. The first thing you will notice about Paula’s Choice trial size is that it is, well, tiny. The bottles are VERY small. But don’t let that get you down. I found that the small size is actually helpful, because it helps you conserve the product and not use too much, which could cause irritation. Tip: The instructions on the bottle may not always be the instructions for your skin. What I mean by this is that sometimes we all can be very tempted to follow the “use one to three times a day” instructions the brand gives us, though our skin is individual and unique and may require more or less, depending on skin sensitivity, severity of acne, etc. I started using the cleanser in the evening, then I washed with a normal cleanser the next morning, and then I used the cleanser, toner, and treatment, that evening. The next day, I started using the cleanser and toner in the morning and all three of them at night. That is what I have been doing for the past 3 weeks, and there is still about 1-2 weeks left I think in the bottles! The next thing I want to say is IT DOES NOT WORK MIRACLES! It’s not going to just magically clear up your acne overnight. it’s going to take time, and you’re going to have to have some patience. I’ve been using it for three weeks and have seen some great improvement! But the first 1-4 days I didn’t see much of a difference at all. I have really, really bad acne on the sides of my face and on my chin/jaw area. I get pimples a lot on my cheeks and forehead too, but the chin/jaw and sides of my face near my ears has the worst acne; with bright, big, red and very painful pimples. This acne treatment really helped prevent new pimples from forming, it made the existing ones smaller and less painful, and it makes my skin feel and look way better. I’m not really sure what the anti-redness stuff does, but the other things have helped. One last tip: Make sure you have a good face sunscreen and moisturizer before using this. Benzoyl peroxide is known to dry out your skin and make it more prone to sunburns. So, grab yourself a really great sunscreen that won’t cause acne, and a moisturizer that is you a rich, and non-greasy. I use Alba Botanica’s aloe and green tea moisturizer, and it is absolutely perfect with this product.Bottom Line: Get your skin used to this treatment before you use it full-on, have patience, and team it with good moisture and sun protection!I totally recommend this product, so if you’re still on the fence, GET IT! The trial size is very low-commitment, and won’t make your acne worse, so there’s really no reason NOT to try this! Hope your story is as happy as mine! 🙂

The most difficult to use. Very thick to spread. Feels greasy. It doesn’t dry fast enough that it is all over my clothes and pillowcases. I don’t like the smell.

Although, I have no plan of purchasing another buffering lotion and drying cream; I really like the drying lotion. I am on my third bottle.

Amazing products. This product leaves my skin feeling smooth. It doesn’t irritate my skin at all. The best my skin has felt in awhile. I also purchased the Blemish Line primer and other ELF makeup products. Definitely would recommend.

Amazing !!! I’ve been dealing with bad hormonal acne this past year, and was spending so much money on other brands trying to find something to clear my face up. Then I saw this set on Elf and thought I should give it a try. I am so glad I did because in just the first few weeks there were visible changes, my face feels so much nicer, smoother, and even ! I have combination skin, with my t-zone being oily and the rest dry. However, the face wash did not dry my skin out, nor did the moisturizer ! I’ve also been using the Elf acne spot treatment alongside this. For the price, it’s absolutely worth it. I ended up ordering the full sized products since I’m almost out, so these small trial sizes actually last a good bit !

I brought this for my son because he was starting to get oily skin from entering into puberty. This did the trick. Gentle enough to kept everything looking clean and healthy. I would definitely recommend this for a first cleanser/moisturizing kit.

However, the bottle is too deep for a cotton swab to reach the bottom of the bottle as instructed. Not user friendly.

The washer is better than the lotion, the lotion is extremely Matte for my skin which is fine for very oily skin. It’s lightweight and it does help with my acne but I wouldn’t say it’s great for sensitive skin, hence the 4 stars.

Totally ruined my skin. I have PCOS and have suffered from acne my entire life. I decided to try out this kit when I saw it. Used it for 2 days and my skin got red, irritated and I broke out with tiny white heads all over. I trust E.L.F so I doubt it’s the products fault. Just don’t use if your skin is sensitive

1/3 Hits. I definitely found some of the items helpful like the drying lotion for spot treatment. The buffering lotion was very drying for me so it made me break out more when I was using it. The drying cream was nice to have and actually didn’t over dry my skin like the buffering lotion did which I appreciate. Overall the kit was a nice idea for me, but ultimately it came down to only the drying lotion that helped my first sign acne. For cystic acne I don’t recommend this kit as it can be very agitating especially if you have sensitive skin.

for along time I stayed away from salicylic acid because it was so drying and just seemed to make me break out [neutrogena >:( ] but this product was a game changer. the oatmilk great at keeping my skin relatively hydrated after wash, paired with corsx snail 92 I had great results.bought two bottles, however I run through them so fast that I’m switching to a different brand (unless cetaphil decides to make a bigger bottle). this will always be my fallback product if nothing else works as well.also for some reason the first bottle I got was really hard to lather, it just seemed to clump up, but the second bottle was fine.

My go to for unwanted blemishes. The liquid anti blemish works really well. I have been using it for years. I didn’t see any significant result with the patches working on my blemishes.

Forget the big box store cleansers. Buy this. I have blackhead issues due to my naturally higher testosterone levels. Out of all of the acne-prone skincare products I’ve tried, this entire kit has been the most effective at solving my issues without exacerbating acne through other means. The cleanser’s 1% salicylic acid (instead of the 2% in other products) along with additional ingredients didn’t dry out my skin, the water cream continues treatment while preventing drying, and the serum packed the biggest punch in getting blackheads out of my skin.

Half the Product 4 the Same Price. Purchased this a year ago but it was a 60 day size for the same price. This is the one dermatologist developed skin care line that works. I have viral products that trend but since using this cleared my skin. I used this for years and my skin is resilient.

Smaller than it use to be. It doesn’t work as well and the sizing is really small. I know it’s a thirty day trial but I know when I used this in my younger years it wasn’t this small! I got it for my daughter and you don’t even get enough to fully try it for thirty days. I guess that’s what happens with inflation. Cut back as much as you can!

My son noticed a great big difference with a couple of days of trying it out! Great product!

Allergic Reaction. My daughter was very excited to get the trendy new skincare. Unfortunately she had a moderate allergic reaction. She broke out in hives all over her body, not just at the point of contact, and her eyes were swollen for 3 days. I hope I will be able to return this.

It works well for acne in adults. I will give it 5 stars for clearing up my acne at 32 years old, but I do suggest finding a good moisturizer for your skin that will not effect the face wash, like a chemical burn or something. Your skin is very sensitive to other products, and it drys out your skin. My advice is to find a good skin routine while using this, just so you dont dry out your skin. I found that Cerave moisturizer works well with hydrating your skin, it feels very smooth, and it works well with this face wash, in my experience, anways. The product does what it’s supposed to do, clear up acne within a week.

not what i ordered. i order the typical yellow stars but what i received is this purple/blue iridescent color ?? it’s not even an option to order this particular color (that i don’t like, it’s giving little kid/unicorn coloring) so i don’t know why i received this.

The smaller are good for 5Xs more coverage and are ideal for use on t-zone clusters- chin, nose, and forehead. Not very pleased.. It seems to work all right, but do not leave on your face for more than it says I accidentally left it on my face more than what you’re supposed to and it literally burnt my face..
I’m not sure really how I feel about this. My main acne go to cleanser is therapy and I think it will always be. I have such a sense of face that Sarah is the only thing that really helped me.

I love this product I have very sensitive skin I did not break out once in the use I can’t wait to try some of their other products as well I do have oily skin but I have what they call combination skin and it works very well on that I am now very excited to say that I’ll be trying there acne line wish I could give this product more stars

I don’t like at all . I tried to purchase this the hydrating they didn’t have it so they gave me this one . I’ve never used the product before but my first few uses. I tried and don’t care for it. My face is breaking out now from these products. The smell is not good either. The mist smells like flowers which I can’t stand and the face wash and moisturizer smells absolutely disgusting.

After using all the other name brands, inc Pro Active which worked for me back in MS (like 20+ years ago lol), this is the one acne kit that actually made a difference. It’s also surprisingly inexpensive; which is appreciated. My only suggestion would be to give your customers an option to buy more toner (separately) OR change the kit to include a bigger toner bottle. I’ve reordered many times and the toner always runs out first. Other than that, I’d recommend this product over many of the more popular name brands out there.

I bought this for my 9 yr old niece, she wanted to start doing a regular routine of washing her face, So to encourage that I got the product that she wanted so badly. She absolutely loves it.

It works! It’s working great for my 13 yr old daughter’s acne.

Great product for sensitive skin too. There’s no scent and my 8 and 10 year olds love the face washing routine that they have now. My older one has dry sensitive skin but this product works great! None of these 3 products have cause any irritation. Hopefully her dry skin on her face will start to clear too!
