I haven’t had regular acne for a while (since I was a teenager), but recently I had a really bad cystic acne flareup. I’m a pretty low maintenance person so usually I just use a gentle face wash followed up with a moisturizer and sunscreen. That wasn’t cutting it with this most recent breakout that was the type of acne that was both painful and prone to scarring. It wasn’t going away on its own like it usually does and I had 3-4 really painful ones so I decided to pick up this kit.I do have sensitive skin but I’m not allergic to benzoyl peroxide, which is the active ingredient in this kit. I have used Proactiv in the past but it stopped working for me and I didn’t feel like getting caught up in the auto-billing practices from ordering on their main site. I also found Proactiv to be a lot more expensive at other retailers. After Proactiv stopped working for me, I went with a “less is more” approach to my acne and I mostly outgrew it before this most recent breakout. I wanted to see what else was out there and saw that this kit had a lot of positive feedback and wanted to give it a try.General overview of each product in the kit:Cleanser: If you like the beads in the Proactiv cleanser, you probably won’t be a fan of this facewash. There is a slight “grit” to it, but nothing like the beads in the Proactiv cleanser. It’s pretty drying so I wouldn’t use it every day. It left my face with that “squeaky-clean” feeling that feels like I over-washed my face. Definitely use a good moisturizer with this facewash.Toner: Worst product of the bunch. All you can smell is the alcohol. I would either switch it out for a different toner if you really want to follow the routine, or only use it on active pimples. Alcohol is actually a great disinfectant but I wouldn’t use it on my whole face. The Proactiv toner is definitely superior to this since that uses the pricier glycolic acid base.Lotion: Comparable to the Proactiv lotion. As other reviewers have mentioned, I would use this sparingly as well. It can be drying if you apply this to your whole face, instead of just active pimples. I found this less drying than the facewash though. As long as I use it sparingly, I can use the lotion daily with minimal dryness, but if I use the cleanser everyday the dryness is out of control.Routine:I only use the cleanser 1-2 times a week and use another sensitive skin facewash daily. If I use the cleanser anymore then that, the dryness gets out of control. Not just flakiness, but the type of dryness where it burns if you apply lotion on it. I do have sensitive skin, but I never had that type of dryness when I was on Proactiv (just general flakiness). I believe Proactiv only has 2.7% benzoyl peroxide in it vs the 3.7% in this kit. 3.7% is a bit high for me to apply to my entire face but works well applied sparingly to active pimples. I usually skip the toner or only apply it to active pimples. I use the lotion daily on any acne-prone places and active pimples, but not my whole face. I always followup with a moisturizer and a sunscreen.Purging period: As others have mentioned, I did experience a pretty bad purging period when I first started using the kit. It brought out cystic acne in places that I usually don’t get it like on the far sides of my cheeks near my ears. It definitely gets worse at first before it gets better. The acne did eventually all go away but did leave brown marks behind that are going to take a while to fade. There also was the severe dryness I mentioned above, until I learned to get the “dosage” right for my skin.General opinion/recommendation:I would purchase the kit again if I was on a budget because it will do in a pinch, but I will probably search for something better. I feel like it does make my acne go away but it’s pretty harsh on my skin and I don’t feel like I can use it as part of my daily routine for a long period of time. I would be interested to try the “sensitive skin” version of the kit in the future to see how it compare. Right now I’m just going to finish up the remainder of this kit before introducing other items into my skincare routine.

My first box lasted since September (it’s now November). At first I was very skeptical of using this because I used equate before this and it did nothing. I would say about the first 5-7 days I started using this, it did burn and cause discomfort but that went away after that time period. Like mentioned in the title, IT DOES TAKE TIME. the box says 24 hours but don’t expect immediate results as it took 2 weeks before I could really tell a difference. I love this stuff and it works great. I can even miss a day or two of washing with this and I still only get one or two pimples. Also I recommend getting the deep cleansing duo. The brush really helps get into your pores better than using your dirty hands to rub it in. Another thing to note it that if you have really bad acne then get the severe kit and if you have sensitive skin like me get the sensitive. I only got the regular cause I needed the acne I had gone and undercontrol. I just bought the sensitive version for my second box and I’m hoping that I can manage acne and not get rid of it, as the regular does make your skin very dry and I hate using moisturizers on my face. I also bought the terminator 10 to zap away sudden pimples that come up. I’ll also put a review up for the sensitive and terminator 10 when I finish them, as I think that’s a long enough time to judge if they work or not. Overall I recommend

works great for breakouts!! as a teen i have a fair amount of acne but in my school only a few have any acne!! it’s very embarrassing sometimes because lots of people point it out and sometimes even make fun of me for it, it was very hard to control breakouts for me but then I just put a little bit of this on the pimples and they shrunk/disappeared so quick you could barely tell they were there!! now I use this everyday and my acnes getting so much better! So I’ve only used this system for 3 three days as the packaging instructs and I already can see a difference. My skin is softer, whiteheads are easier to extract, and redness has decreased by a whole lot. I have hormonal, adult acne with oily/combination skin and usually have about three breakouts at one time. I am super excited to see if this system will be able to prevent breakouts from occurring.Update: Ok so I’ve used this for a few weeks now and took off a star. First, this became super drying. I’m talking about peach fuzz all over the face drying. Peeling tiny particles of skin off my face drying. My makeup applied even worse with this vs applying makeup to a face with breakouts on it. So I’ve now started to use this every other day.Second, when you get breakouts, the healing process is super slow. I forgot to wash my face one night and woke up to three new breakouts. I started to use the lotion as a spot treatment but my stubborn acne did not budge. The lotion helped to keep the size of the zit down but it took an entire 8 days for the zit to go away. Until then, there was a medium size, very noticeable bump on my face. So this is not for people who want rapid results. There are drugstore spot treatment options that perform much better.So I love the system for preventing breakouts but hate the dry skin I get after using this.

I’ve been using Proactiv since 19 and I am a guy. I’m 28 now and it still works great.Here are some tips.- Use it every morning when you wake up before or after breakfast, and use it every night when you’re about to go to bed. Don’t miss either of them.- Give it 6 weeks of doing twice every day. If you miss even just one of those two, it will show.- Use water-based moisturizer after step 3, always. Irritated skin = acne.- DON’T touch your face, ever. If you want to pop some pimples, use q-tips. Just don’t touch the ends.- Buy Proactiv’s refining mask and use it every three nights. It will last 3+ months easily, it’ll give you a break for one night from using the 3-step routine (4-step if you’re using water-based moisturizer, and you should be) and it’ll help to extend the amount of product you have. It’s also just a great product. I also don’t use the water-based moisturizer after using Proactiv’s refining mask. However, if I needed to go back out, or I planned on doing something, I would. It would be necessary then.- DON’T make a ton of facial expressions until you have put on the water-based moisturizer. It will cause you to break out.- You may notice some white streaks or dry skin on your face, especially around your eyes and neckline, just use a wet hot washcloth and gently swipe against it. They will go away.- For those of you with oily skin like mine, don’t use any facial cleansers or blot shots in the middle of the day. It will cause your skin to dry out even more, forcing your body to produce more, causing more breakouts. Instead just splash your face with warm water and gently pat dry it.Lifestyle changes.- Routinely get 7-9 hours of sleep a night.- I personally meditate for stress and anxiety. I swear by the mobile app Headspace (available for both iPhone and Android, $13 a month). It not only helps me immensely mentally and emotionally but also it helps to stop breakouts also. Stress = acne. It doesn’t need to be meditation but find something that makes you calm, focused, and think clearly.- Drink enough water. “Enough” varies from person to person. Just find your right amount.- Exercise, preferably in the sun, and sweat. It definitely helps, especially for those of you, like me, who have really oily skin.- Wash your sheets every week. Not every other week, or every month, or every whenever. Actually wash them every week like clockwork.Just some final words.I know Proactiv is pretty expensive when compared to other acne products but it actually does work.I stopped using Proactiv a while ago to find more affordable options. I have tried Neutrogena facial washes followed by water-based moisturizers, Humane’s Benzyl Peroxide along with their toner, and AcneFree 3-step routine, and all of them failed. Humane came the closest, especially with the toner, but it still didn’t give me the clear skin I was looking for. I was going to try the acne pill, as it also has 5-stars rated by a lot of people but I’m not a big fan of taking pills. I also found out that they will send you another shipment of their product for free if you give them 5-stars (as one of their reviewers stated).Yes, it is moderately expensive. But having good self-esteem and confidence is something that is really worth the value. Being able to ask that person out, doing well in a job interview, just not having people stare at your acne instead of you when you’re being rung out at the grocery store, etc. There are plenty of circumstances in our day-to-day lives where we need to present our best possible selves.I also have to mention that for those of you who are concerned with the cost, if you order from Proactiv’s official website, the payments are split between 3-months. So I ordered a 90-day shipment from them and I pay only $20 a month. I ordered this 30-day shipment from Amazon because I went through the product somewhat quickly and while I haven’t ran out yet, I just wanted to make sure that I had a small back supply just in case if I did to hold me over until my next shipment arrives.

Work great. These work relatively well as long as you use them regularly. I have three children and each use them differently. One of my sons uses them twice daily, the other uses them every night, and my tween daughter only uses them every other night.
They leave that cool refreshing Noxzema scent and feeling on the skin which I personally like, again everyone is different.
You get 90 pads for a great price so they are budget friendly and great for teens.
The only complaint we have is that the pads can feel a bit rough on the skin so I suggest using them gently. Each pad has a smooth side and a textured side.

Husband swears by it. My husband swears by this product and has used it for years . As a woman who does the laundry it can stain or bleach the necks of shirts sometimes I noticed. Other than that I say it’s a great product

I’ve only been using this set for a week but holy smoke has my skin texture improved LIKE CRAZY. I break up the products between morning/evening. I use all three at night after using a makeup remover if needed. I ocassionally skip the 2nd step at night depending on how my skin is that day, and then just the toner and lotion (step 2 and 3) in the morning. I always follow with a moisturizer, with a thicker moisturizer at night and light moisturizer in the morning. Make sure your moisturizer has ceramides, hyaluronic acid, and /or zinc, this helps greatly with healing and mpisture. It does make my neck itch a tiny bit, but I have extremely sensitive skin on my neck, so I just don’t pull the products down much past my jawline. Moisturizing takes the itch away. I would recommend only using step 3 twice a day if your skin tolerates it. Otherwise once a day is plenty for results. Rotating in an AHA (like glycolic or lactic acid) treatment opposite of the time of day you use step 2 will give you even better results as this product contains a BHA (salicylic acid). Proceed with caution at first! Watch how your skin tolerates things and go forward from there.

If you have sensitive skin I do reccomend using a moisturizer after the lotion that comes with it. This will make your face peel. It does get rid of those pesky black heads also.

Follow the directions exactly as the package indicates and you will have the desired outcome, and yes this works on cystic zits too. For the best results use these overnight 8-9 hours and poof! pimple is gone. If it’s a gnarly one you may need to do another round.

Great Product. Bought these as a possible replacement for Peter Thomas Roth acne “dots” for my daughter. Much less expensive so thought she could try them and compare. She loves them and has asked me to order them instead of PTR from now on. She says they work better and are thicker than the others which makes them easier to remove. I’ll be back for more.

Great for small pimples. Ive been using these for about 2 months. I wouldnt say that wearing 1 patch will make the pimple go away, maybe a small one, but a larger one will take time and will most likely need stronger medicine. I’ve been using these products for awhile now and it’s really made the difference. I wouldn’t recommend this product to someone with dry or super sensitive skin, but it definitely wouldn’t cause any problems when used occasionally. I’ve found it to be drying when used regularly, especially the lotion, but it does wonders alone. Using a moisturizing face lotion along with these products has worked perfectly for me and has not dried out my skin. This routine has cleared up 99.9% of my acne, but I have noticed that you do have to keep up with it to maintain clear skin. These products are also non-scented, which is great for someone with sensitive skin and just your face in general. I use this along with spot treatment and my skin has never looked better! Not to mention these products are also fast-acting, giving results overnight unlike many other acne products that require months worth of use. Worth more than what you’re paying for!Reading through other reviews, this product is definitely controversial and not for everyone. The active ingredient is benzoyl peroxide, which can explain why it has given different people different reactions. If someone has never used benzoyl peroxide on their skin it can be very intense and it’s definitely capable of making your skin worse. If you use this product with no previous acne medication use or apply these products too often it can easily cause burns, irritation, or rashes. These side effects are common, it’s just your skin telling you the medication is too strong and harsh. When buying acne medication, the best thing you can do is research and patch tests. This way you will be able to find what works best for you. Salicylic acid is another active ingredient used in acne products that could also give someone the same bad reaction. Most of the time these reactions happen either because you’re skin is not familiar with these products or just not susceptible to the specific medication. I’ve had a past with both benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid, coming to a conclusion benzoyl peroxide is best for my skin. That is not the case for others though, everyone’s skin is different and the same product will work differently on different people with different skin types. The average percentage to start on benzoyl peroxide is 2.5%. The acne lotion contains 3.7% which can be damaging and drying if you do not slowly ease into it or if your skin is not familiar with benzoyl peroxide and this percentage. Some that have come across issues used these products daily, even twice a day. This will easily harm your skin just because of how intensifying it is. Even though this is not a prescription drug and is available to anyone, it is definitely not made for everyone and can be extreme and harsh. A moisturizing face lotion is your best friend while using these products because they are drying and will absorb your natural oils, even for someone that does not have dry skin. I would definitely recommend to ease into these products and determine what is best for your individual skin for the best results. I do not believe this is a good product for first-time acne medication users just because of the strength. This product is definitely best for someone that knows their skin and has knowledge about acne medication and how it’s used. If this product is used correctly it will show correct results.

The best!! I have bought this months ago, and it’s the greatest investment I have done in my life. Could see the difference in size of small spots immediately, they like vanish. Bigger spots need more treatment but it reduces the pain and stop from inflamming. I am super satisfied with every product I bought of Foreo 🙂

works with consistent use. This device isn’t a miracle worker, but it assists to heal acne faster. As I’m very acne-prone I’ve used it in my routine nearly every day since I’ve gotten it, and I zap zits diligently twice a day. The battery lasts about a week’s use for me. Large angry pimples used to take a week to heal, now it’s 4-5 days. It can sometimes make smaller pimples that I catch early enough disappear entirely the next day. But I have one grumble, and that’s that the white silicone top surrounding the laser comes off too easily. It started coming off after about 1 month’s use and the adhesive is completely gone after 2 months. I use it carefully, have never dropped it and I rinse off after use as instructions state. It’s very disappointing that the silicone top comes off so quickly when it’s not exactly a cheap item.
