I haven’t had regular acne for a while (since I was a teenager), but recently I had a really bad cystic acne flareup. I’m a pretty low maintenance person so usually I just use a gentle face wash followed up with a moisturizer and sunscreen. That wasn’t cutting it with this most recent breakout that was the type of acne that was both painful and prone to scarring. It wasn’t going away on its own like it usually does and I had 3-4 really painful ones so I decided to pick up this kit.I do have sensitive skin but I’m not allergic to benzoyl peroxide, which is the active ingredient in this kit. I have used Proactiv in the past but it stopped working for me and I didn’t feel like getting caught up in the auto-billing practices from ordering on their main site. I also found Proactiv to be a lot more expensive at other retailers. After Proactiv stopped working for me, I went with a “less is more” approach to my acne and I mostly outgrew it before this most recent breakout. I wanted to see what else was out there and saw that this kit had a lot of positive feedback and wanted to give it a try.General overview of each product in the kit:Cleanser: If you like the beads in the Proactiv cleanser, you probably won’t be a fan of this facewash. There is a slight “grit” to it, but nothing like the beads in the Proactiv cleanser. It’s pretty drying so I wouldn’t use it every day. It left my face with that “squeaky-clean” feeling that feels like I over-washed my face. Definitely use a good moisturizer with this facewash.Toner: Worst product of the bunch. All you can smell is the alcohol. I would either switch it out for a different toner if you really want to follow the routine, or only use it on active pimples. Alcohol is actually a great disinfectant but I wouldn’t use it on my whole face. The Proactiv toner is definitely superior to this since that uses the pricier glycolic acid base.Lotion: Comparable to the Proactiv lotion. As other reviewers have mentioned, I would use this sparingly as well. It can be drying if you apply this to your whole face, instead of just active pimples. I found this less drying than the facewash though. As long as I use it sparingly, I can use the lotion daily with minimal dryness, but if I use the cleanser everyday the dryness is out of control.Routine:I only use the cleanser 1-2 times a week and use another sensitive skin facewash daily. If I use the cleanser anymore then that, the dryness gets out of control. Not just flakiness, but the type of dryness where it burns if you apply lotion on it. I do have sensitive skin, but I never had that type of dryness when I was on Proactiv (just general flakiness). I believe Proactiv only has 2.7% benzoyl peroxide in it vs the 3.7% in this kit. 3.7% is a bit high for me to apply to my entire face but works well applied sparingly to active pimples. I usually skip the toner or only apply it to active pimples. I use the lotion daily on any acne-prone places and active pimples, but not my whole face. I always followup with a moisturizer and a sunscreen.Purging period: As others have mentioned, I did experience a pretty bad purging period when I first started using the kit. It brought out cystic acne in places that I usually don’t get it like on the far sides of my cheeks near my ears. It definitely gets worse at first before it gets better. The acne did eventually all go away but did leave brown marks behind that are going to take a while to fade. There also was the severe dryness I mentioned above, until I learned to get the “dosage” right for my skin.General opinion/recommendation:I would purchase the kit again if I was on a budget because it will do in a pinch, but I will probably search for something better. I feel like it does make my acne go away but it’s pretty harsh on my skin and I don’t feel like I can use it as part of my daily routine for a long period of time. I would be interested to try the “sensitive skin” version of the kit in the future to see how it compare. Right now I’m just going to finish up the remainder of this kit before introducing other items into my skincare routine.

My first box lasted since September (it’s now November). At first I was very skeptical of using this because I used equate before this and it did nothing. I would say about the first 5-7 days I started using this, it did burn and cause discomfort but that went away after that time period. Like mentioned in the title, IT DOES TAKE TIME. the box says 24 hours but don’t expect immediate results as it took 2 weeks before I could really tell a difference. I love this stuff and it works great. I can even miss a day or two of washing with this and I still only get one or two pimples. Also I recommend getting the deep cleansing duo. The brush really helps get into your pores better than using your dirty hands to rub it in. Another thing to note it that if you have really bad acne then get the severe kit and if you have sensitive skin like me get the sensitive. I only got the regular cause I needed the acne I had gone and undercontrol. I just bought the sensitive version for my second box and I’m hoping that I can manage acne and not get rid of it, as the regular does make your skin very dry and I hate using moisturizers on my face. I also bought the terminator 10 to zap away sudden pimples that come up. I’ll also put a review up for the sensitive and terminator 10 when I finish them, as I think that’s a long enough time to judge if they work or not. Overall I recommend

So I’ve only used this system for 3 three days as the packaging instructs and I already can see a difference. My skin is softer, whiteheads are easier to extract, and redness has decreased by a whole lot. I have hormonal, adult acne with oily/combination skin and usually have about three breakouts at one time. I am super excited to see if this system will be able to prevent breakouts from occurring.Update: Ok so I’ve used this for a few weeks now and took off a star. First, this became super drying. I’m talking about peach fuzz all over the face drying. Peeling tiny particles of skin off my face drying. My makeup applied even worse with this vs applying makeup to a face with breakouts on it. So I’ve now started to use this every other day.Second, when you get breakouts, the healing process is super slow. I forgot to wash my face one night and woke up to three new breakouts. I started to use the lotion as a spot treatment but my stubborn acne did not budge. The lotion helped to keep the size of the zit down but it took an entire 8 days for the zit to go away. Until then, there was a medium size, very noticeable bump on my face. So this is not for people who want rapid results. There are drugstore spot treatment options that perform much better.So I love the system for preventing breakouts but hate the dry skin I get after using this.

Perfect! I’ve always struggled with acne, but now I’ve finally found a product that works! After just one week, my skin looked a million times more clear and felt incredibly soft. The products don’t dry out your skin, and at the same time they don’t leave any oily residue. Just stick to the routine, and it really works!

I LOVE IT!!!!!!!! I’ve used every brand from proactiv to curology and nothing seemed to work out so i used Tatcha and it works wonders but it is very expensive…. this work exactly the same as tatcha does im in love with this product overall 10/10

Broke out horribly. Was looking for a comment like this. I’m rating this 3 stars for person reasons. Acne was light. 26 year old male. Wanted to use this product with the hopes of clearing my skin. Maybe I shouldn’t of bothered using a 3 step acne regimen if my acne wasn’t moderate to severe. Anyways I used it consistently for 6 weeks. Acne became worse than it’s ever been in my life. I’m putting 3 stars since it seems to work for a lot of people, just putting it into perspective for someone like me. Would be a 1 for me.

best product. I never had a issue with acne (just black heads) till I was put on steroids for a injury. I got this product hoping I could get rid of the steroid acne. I’ve only used it for 3 days and my face is clearing up again. I’m very picky about what goes on my face but this product is AMAZING! If you have sensitive skin I do reccomend using a moisturizer after the lotion that comes with it. This will make your face peel. It does get rid of those pesky black heads also.

I have painful cystic acne and sensitive skin. I’ve had allergic reactions to other products like this, such as equate. This is the only one that doesn’t give me a burning rash.

After I started using this product years ago, people quickly started commenting about how clear my skin looks. I mean I still have flare ups around my period, but this quickly subdued it.

This stuff calms down my inflamed acne and disinfects any open acne wounds until the cyst comes out so it can close up and heal finally.

I have to be attentive to the state my skin is in though. If my skin is too sensitive and over producing oil, I skip the lotion. Too dry? I skin the toner. Dry and sensitive? I skip the cleanser and use something softer.

This product has bleaching properties so be careful with clothes and spot treating.

Bye pimples. For me this is now an essential for emergency pimple removal. Love this. The girls love their “Dots”. I have a teen and a wife who both love these! Ever since COVID-19 and the constant mask wearing, the girls have been using these a lot to help with what they call “Mask-ne” We will certainly be buying these again, as they both love the results, and they ship with a quickness!

Soothing circles. Although many people use these little patches for acne, they are also ideal for skin issues that are a side effect of medications and health treatments. They soothe the affected area and also decrease inflammation. After trying a variety of other patches, I keep coming back to these when I want a patch that has the benefits of tea tree oil. They adhere best to freshly cleaned skin (don’t apply lotion).

Go for it. I have spent a lot of time considering if I should buy this product or not. It`s not the cheapest so I took time. So glad I decided to go for it. Helped visibly calming my skin and results are visible after second use. So if you are considering buying this, honestly, just go for it.

Another thing about them is that you can wear them to work and no one will even notice your patch. For best results, follow the instructions on the packet and your face will be zit-free.

Great Product. Bought these as a possible replacement for Peter Thomas Roth acne “dots” for my daughter. Much less expensive so thought she could try them and compare. She loves them and has asked me to order them instead of PTR from now on. She says they work better and are thicker than the others which makes them easier to remove. I’ll be back for more.

Disappointed. I began to run low on my supple of hydrocolloid patches, so I figured I’d get these to give them a try. They’re similar in design/feel as another brand I’ve used before, but I’m pretty disappointed. They stick to my face, but they don’t absorb anything. My go to face wash! I love this face wash. I have super temperamental combination skin, and this is the only stuff does the trick for me. I used to use Proactiv, but the price point on this wash is way better and it does the same thing. I repurchase about every other month.

Great for small pimples. Ive been using these for about 2 months. I wouldnt say that wearing 1 patch will make the pimple go away, maybe a small one, but a larger one will take time and will most likely need stronger medicine. But it sticks on great and doesnt come off. I dont even realize I have it on and its great from distracting me from touching my pimple.

I’ve been using these products for awhile now and it’s really made the difference. I wouldn’t recommend this product to someone with dry or super sensitive skin, but it definitely wouldn’t cause any problems when used occasionally. I’ve found it to be drying when used regularly, especially the lotion, but it does wonders alone. Using a moisturizing face lotion along with these products has worked perfectly for me and has not dried out my skin. This routine has cleared up 99.9% of my acne, but I have noticed that you do have to keep up with it to maintain clear skin. These products are also non-scented, which is great for someone with sensitive skin and just your face in general. I use this along with spot treatment and my skin has never looked better! Not to mention these products are also fast-acting, giving results overnight unlike many other acne products that require months worth of use. Worth more than what you’re paying for!Reading through other reviews, this product is definitely controversial and not for everyone. The active ingredient is benzoyl peroxide, which can explain why it has given different people different reactions. If someone has never used benzoyl peroxide on their skin it can be very intense and it’s definitely capable of making your skin worse. If you use this product with no previous acne medication use or apply these products too often it can easily cause burns, irritation, or rashes. These side effects are common, it’s just your skin telling you the medication is too strong and harsh. When buying acne medication, the best thing you can do is research and patch tests. This way you will be able to find what works best for you. Salicylic acid is another active ingredient used in acne products that could also give someone the same bad reaction. Most of the time these reactions happen either because you’re skin is not familiar with these products or just not susceptible to the specific medication. I’ve had a past with both benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid, coming to a conclusion benzoyl peroxide is best for my skin. That is not the case for others though, everyone’s skin is different and the same product will work differently on different people with different skin types. The average percentage to start on benzoyl peroxide is 2.5%. The acne lotion contains 3.7% which can be damaging and drying if you do not slowly ease into it or if your skin is not familiar with benzoyl peroxide and this percentage. Some that have come across issues used these products daily, even twice a day. This will easily harm your skin just because of how intensifying it is. Even though this is not a prescription drug and is available to anyone, it is definitely not made for everyone and can be extreme and harsh. A moisturizing face lotion is your best friend while using these products because they are drying and will absorb your natural oils, even for someone that does not have dry skin. I would definitely recommend to ease into these products and determine what is best for your individual skin for the best results. I do not believe this is a good product for first-time acne medication users just because of the strength. This product is definitely best for someone that knows their skin and has knowledge about acne medication and how it’s used. If this product is used correctly it will show correct results.

Super Helpful! I’ve been dealing with some bad breakouts for the last few months. These haven’t magically fixed them, but it definitely seems to help breakouts heal much quick. Normally I feel like it takes about a week or more for my zits to surface and heal, but it only takes a couple days when I use these guys. I’ve already repurchased and plan to keep using them!

The best!! I have bought this months ago, and it’s the greatest investment I have done in my life. Could see the difference in size of small spots immediately, they like vanish. Bigger spots need more treatment but it reduces the pain and stop from inflamming. I am super satisfied with every product I bought of Foreo 🙂

Helpful for pus filled pimples. Have been using the product for over 3 weeks now and I think it is a good investment.
I have acne prone areas on my cheek and jawline, which always end up having pus filled pimples growing at those areas. Although these marked areas are still present on my face, but those on my cheek have not flared up since using this device and the ones on my chin deflated from pus filled pimples to a flattened one without squeezing.

Compared to my LUNA 2, this ESPADA requires more frequent charging. Probably because each spot requires 30 seconds so if you have a lot of blemishes like me, you would need to charge it frequently.

Packaging box was pretty dented, but the original foreo box and device was in good condition.

I have tried EVERYTHING for my acne. EVERYTHING. Nuetrogena, La Roche-Posay, Differin Gel, Alba Botanica’s acne dote, random stuff from the store, a mix of cetiphil soap and hibbacleanse (is that how you spell it?), and even nothing at all. Everything either gave me a permanent sunburn, made my skin peel/flake, or gave me more acne. Ever since I was 12 years old, I’ve been searching and searching for the right product. I think this is it. I ordered the regular strength travel size, and I love it. The first thing you will notice about Paula’s Choice trial size is that it is, well, tiny. The bottles are VERY small. But don’t let that get you down. I found that the small size is actually helpful, because it helps you conserve the product and not use too much, which could cause irritation. Tip: The instructions on the bottle may not always be the instructions for your skin. What I mean by this is that sometimes we all can be very tempted to follow the “use one to three times a day” instructions the brand gives us, though our skin is individual and unique and may require more or less, depending on skin sensitivity, severity of acne, etc. I started using the cleanser in the evening, then I washed with a normal cleanser the next morning, and then I used the cleanser, toner, and treatment, that evening. The next day, I started using the cleanser and toner in the morning and all three of them at night. That is what I have been doing for the past 3 weeks, and there is still about 1-2 weeks left I think in the bottles! The next thing I want to say is IT DOES NOT WORK MIRACLES! It’s not going to just magically clear up your acne overnight. it’s going to take time, and you’re going to have to have some patience. I’ve been using it for three weeks and have seen some great improvement! But the first 1-4 days I didn’t see much of a difference at all. I have really, really bad acne on the sides of my face and on my chin/jaw area. I get pimples a lot on my cheeks and forehead too, but the chin/jaw and sides of my face near my ears has the worst acne; with bright, big, red and very painful pimples. This acne treatment really helped prevent new pimples from forming, it made the existing ones smaller and less painful, and it makes my skin feel and look way better. I’m not really sure what the anti-redness stuff does, but the other things have helped. One last tip: Make sure you have a good face sunscreen and moisturizer before using this. Benzoyl peroxide is known to dry out your skin and make it more prone to sunburns. So, grab yourself a really great sunscreen that won’t cause acne, and a moisturizer that is you a rich, and non-greasy. I use Alba Botanica’s aloe and green tea moisturizer, and it is absolutely perfect with this product.Bottom Line: Get your skin used to this treatment before you use it full-on, have patience, and team it with good moisture and sun protection!I totally recommend this product, so if you’re still on the fence, GET IT! The trial size is very low-commitment, and won’t make your acne worse, so there’s really no reason NOT to try this! Hope your story is as happy as mine! 🙂

Prior to using this set my face was breaking out quite badly. I changed my cleanser one day and since then my skin has never been the same, it broke out like crazy and no matter what I did my skin just wouldn’t return to how it was prior to using that cleanser .With that being said, I bought this set and let me tell you, within just a few uses my face was improving! I was in shock! I’ve been using this set for about a week and my forehead is now basically clear again! My cheeks are almost clear, I haven’t had this clear of skin for quite sometime.My only suggestion is to moisturize moisturize moisturize. I have very oily skin so I usually use a light gel like moisturizer. No no no, my skin was so dry it, and it was stiff at times. When I switched to my thicker moisturizer with Shea butter my face instantly felt better and my face was once again glowing and looking healthy again! Also I wouldn’t recommend just using this product twice a day right off the bat because it does sting a little. So work this product into your routine gradually. Just be cautious if you have sensitive skin.Overall this set is a great it definitely has done the job and is clearing my skin in no time. I’d say give it a try if you want to clear your skin, but just keep in mind some of the things mentioned above. I hope this helps, thank you:)

Awful! They are normally $15 to $17 in the store. Don’t understand why they would buy it out the store for that price then resell it for $39. Never buying from this seller again. Found cheaper ones with other sellers.

Smaller than it use to be. It doesn’t work as well and the sizing is really small. I know it’s a thirty day trial but I know when I used this in my younger years it wasn’t this small! I got it for my daughter and you don’t even get enough to fully try it for thirty days. I guess that’s what happens with inflation. Cut back as much as you can!

It works well for acne in adults. I will give it 5 stars for clearing up my acne at 32 years old, but I do suggest finding a good moisturizer for your skin that will not effect the face wash, like a chemical burn or something. Your skin is very sensitive to other products, and it drys out your skin. My advice is to find a good skin routine while using this, just so you dont dry out your skin. I found that Cerave moisturizer works well with hydrating your skin, it feels very smooth, and it works well with this face wash, in my experience, anways. The product does what it’s supposed to do, clear up acne within a week.

I ordered this set for myself in the winter when I had a bad reaction to the cold weather in Chicago in combination with some inflammation due to tetrinoin use. The cleanser was my favorite part. Very creamy and hydrating, loved it. Works best when you apply to dry skin and massage it in. You can wipe it off with a clean towel because it will soften and losen dead skin and residue and exfoliate. I also used the serum after and during home micro needling sessions, it protected my skin and helped it heal quickly. It really prevented post micro needling moisture loss. My least favorite product in the bundle was the moisturizer, I found it too light and also stings my skin. I prefer, to do ” slugging” with heavier water soluable moisturizing skin balms. This seems like it would be a good light weight moisturizer in the summer months when working out outside…I never tried to wear it with sunscreen though so I don’t know if it would be compatible. But it wasn’t a bad product just not exactly what I was looking for. The ordinary is great because they use glass whenever possible so I prefer thier serums for that reason as well, and they always deliver a quality product at a great price point. The picture is my skin make up free after using these products for a month.
