Is not plastic, I try scratching it and it wouldn’t scratch, is tempered glass the same as the glass on your car windshield or on your phone glass screen protector. Is glass that if it brakes it will shatter in to many pieces and not in to big dangerous pieces. Yes it feels like strong plastic, but try scratching it and you will see is not.Tempered glass is annealed glass that has been heat treated to harden and strengthen it, is more expensive than annealed glass because it goes through a process of extreme heating and rapid cooling and is 4 times stronger than normal glass.Overall I like that I feel safer to have this as decoration in a house with kids, teenagers and pets and when you don’t know what they will brake next. This are elegant looking and well made.

These are simple, clean and very pretty hurricanes. They are glass, and do feel fragile as they are thin and light weight. There is a mirrored bottom on all 3 which is an elevated touch. I am hoping that the metal framing does not rust easily as I have these outside and we do get a marine layer each morning. But rating them as is upon arrival, I give them a high rating because they are very pretty and look good clustered together.
