Just As Good As Proactiv. I would recommend AcneFree to ANYONE that is looking for an over the counter acne treatment that works just as good as Proactiv does. I’ve been using it for a little over a year and I am very pleased. Just like Proactiv, only cheaper.

I haven’t had regular acne for a while (since I was a teenager), but recently I had a really bad cystic acne flareup. I’m a pretty low maintenance person so usually I just use a gentle face wash followed up with a moisturizer and sunscreen. That wasn’t cutting it with this most recent breakout that was the type of acne that was both painful and prone to scarring. It wasn’t going away on its own like it usually does and I had 3-4 really painful ones so I decided to pick up this kit.I do have sensitive skin but I’m not allergic to benzoyl peroxide, which is the active ingredient in this kit. I have used Proactiv in the past but it stopped working for me and I didn’t feel like getting caught up in the auto-billing practices from ordering on their main site. I also found Proactiv to be a lot more expensive at other retailers. After Proactiv stopped working for me, I went with a “less is more” approach to my acne and I mostly outgrew it before this most recent breakout. I wanted to see what else was out there and saw that this kit had a lot of positive feedback and wanted to give it a try.General overview of each product in the kit:Cleanser: If you like the beads in the Proactiv cleanser, you probably won’t be a fan of this facewash. There is a slight “grit” to it, but nothing like the beads in the Proactiv cleanser. It’s pretty drying so I wouldn’t use it every day. It left my face with that “squeaky-clean” feeling that feels like I over-washed my face. Definitely use a good moisturizer with this facewash.Toner: Worst product of the bunch. All you can smell is the alcohol. I would either switch it out for a different toner if you really want to follow the routine, or only use it on active pimples. Alcohol is actually a great disinfectant but I wouldn’t use it on my whole face. The Proactiv toner is definitely superior to this since that uses the pricier glycolic acid base.Lotion: Comparable to the Proactiv lotion. As other reviewers have mentioned, I would use this sparingly as well. It can be drying if you apply this to your whole face, instead of just active pimples. I found this less drying than the facewash though. As long as I use it sparingly, I can use the lotion daily with minimal dryness, but if I use the cleanser everyday the dryness is out of control.Routine:I only use the cleanser 1-2 times a week and use another sensitive skin facewash daily. If I use the cleanser anymore then that, the dryness gets out of control. Not just flakiness, but the type of dryness where it burns if you apply lotion on it. I do have sensitive skin, but I never had that type of dryness when I was on Proactiv (just general flakiness). I believe Proactiv only has 2.7% benzoyl peroxide in it vs the 3.7% in this kit. 3.7% is a bit high for me to apply to my entire face but works well applied sparingly to active pimples. I usually skip the toner or only apply it to active pimples. I use the lotion daily on any acne-prone places and active pimples, but not my whole face. I always followup with a moisturizer and a sunscreen.Purging period: As others have mentioned, I did experience a pretty bad purging period when I first started using the kit. It brought out cystic acne in places that I usually don’t get it like on the far sides of my cheeks near my ears. It definitely gets worse at first before it gets better. The acne did eventually all go away but did leave brown marks behind that are going to take a while to fade. There also was the severe dryness I mentioned above, until I learned to get the “dosage” right for my skin.General opinion/recommendation:I would purchase the kit again if I was on a budget because it will do in a pinch, but I will probably search for something better. I feel like it does make my acne go away but it’s pretty harsh on my skin and I don’t feel like I can use it as part of my daily routine for a long period of time. I would be interested to try the “sensitive skin” version of the kit in the future to see how it compare. Right now I’m just going to finish up the remainder of this kit before introducing other items into my skincare routine.

Does exactly what it says but takes some time. Ok so I am nearing the end of my first box and all I have to say is wow this stuff actually worked. My first box lasted since September (it’s now November). At first I was very skeptical of using this because I used equate before this and it did nothing. I would say about the first 5-7 days I started using this, it did burn and cause discomfort but that went away after that time period. Like mentioned in the title, IT DOES TAKE TIME. the box says 24 hours but don’t expect immediate results as it took 2 weeks before I could really tell a difference. I love this stuff and it works great. I can even miss a day or two of washing with this and I still only get one or two pimples. Also I recommend getting the deep cleansing duo. The brush really helps get into your pores better than using your dirty hands to rub it in. Another thing to note it that if you have really bad acne then get the severe kit and if you have sensitive skin like me get the sensitive. I just bought the sensitive version for my second box and I’m hoping that I can manage acne and not get rid of it, as the regular does make your skin very dry and I hate using moisturizers on my face. Consistently clear skin. My daughter (19) uses this product. She generally has a good complexion with a few outbreaks. This product seems to control the acne completely, – out breaks are no more! She has been using this product for 1+ year.
My son (22) uses the “sensitive skin” formula, ( the active ingredient is different.) His acne problem is more serious. The acne med hasn’t completely cleared his skin up, but it is MUCH better!

So I’ve only used this system for 3 three days as the packaging instructs and I already can see a difference. My skin is softer, whiteheads are easier to extract, and redness has decreased by a whole lot. I have hormonal, adult acne with oily/combination skin and usually have about three breakouts at one time. I am super excited to see if this system will be able to prevent breakouts from occurring.Update: Ok so I’ve used this for a few weeks now and took off a star. First, this became super drying. I’m talking about peach fuzz all over the face drying. Peeling tiny particles of skin off my face drying. My makeup applied even worse with this vs applying makeup to a face with breakouts on it. So I’ve now started to use this every other day.Second, when you get breakouts, the healing process is super slow. I forgot to wash my face one night and woke up to three new breakouts. I started to use the lotion as a spot treatment but my stubborn acne did not budge. The lotion helped to keep the size of the zit down but it took an entire 8 days for the zit to go away. Until then, there was a medium size, very noticeable bump on my face. So this is not for people who want rapid results. There are drugstore spot treatment options that perform much better.So I love the system for preventing breakouts but hate the dry skin I get after using this.

Very good for acne

My number one acne treating product. I could write a while essay on this product about my love for it and how I use it but I will try to keep it short.

I have painful cystic acne and sensitive skin. I’ve had allergic reactions to other products like this, such as equate. This is the only one that doesn’t give me a burning rash.

After I started using this product years ago, people quickly started commenting about how clear my skin looks. I mean I still have flare ups around my period, but this quickly subdued it.

This stuff calms down my inflamed acne and disinfects any open acne wounds until the cyst comes out so it can close up and heal finally.

I have to be attentive to the state my skin is in though. If my skin is too sensitive and over producing oil, I skip the lotion. Too dry? I skin the toner. Dry and sensitive? I skip the cleanser and use something softer.

This product has bleaching properties so be careful with clothes and spot treating.

KILLING MY CYSTIC ACNE!!!! I have been desperate since September 2020 to get rid of a Cystic Acne spot on my neck.
I have used a multitude of products that I dare not list for fear of retaliation(kidding).

I conceded and had my boyfriend order this product for me. I received it last week. Already, it’s shrinking this Cyst, and my pores as well.
You heard that right, chile. It is reducing and keeping reduced, the appearance of my pores

I do not have an issue with acne, so much as cystic acne, something that plagues women of color. And the ingrown hairs, too. Those hors-moning(hormones) will destroy the fiercest of confidence.
But this magic potion line is the Bellerophon of acne. It get’s deep, and you can feel it fighting the Chimera that is, cystic acne.

And do as the direction say, put it on, an rinse it off twice. You will feel a tingling sensation, that’s when you know to wash. Put it back on, feel the tingle, rinse off. No scrubbing or washing tools like scrubbing brushes and “rags” needed.

When I put the acne fighting lotion on, Oh, the way it makes my skin feel. You will not have that tight stripped shiny clean, and yet you will not have the feeling of “product”on your face. Instead, it will be lightly moisturized. At this point you can choose to put your moisturizer and sunscreen on. I do not need moisturizer, and skip straight to my makeup.

It does not stop there, though; It consistently works throughout the day at keeping my skin balanced underneath my makeup. And this is all within 7 days of use. I do not need anything else. Before you go for the name brands, please give this a try.

Worth more than what you’re paying for!Reading through other reviews, this product is definitely controversial and not for everyone. The active ingredient is benzoyl peroxide, which can explain why it has given different people different reactions. If someone has never used benzoyl peroxide on their skin it can be very intense and it’s definitely capable of making your skin worse. If you use this product with no previous acne medication use or apply these products too often it can easily cause burns, irritation, or rashes. These side effects are common, it’s just your skin telling you the medication is too strong and harsh. When buying acne medication, the best thing you can do is research and patch tests. Even though this is not a prescription drug and is available to anyone, it is definitely not made for everyone and can be extreme and harsh. A moisturizing face lotion is your best friend while using these products because they are drying and will absorb your natural oils, even for someone that does not have dry skin. I would definitely recommend to ease into these products and determine what is best for your individual skin for the best results. I do not believe this is a good product for first-time acne medication users just because of the strength. This product is definitely best for someone that knows their skin and has knowledge about acne medication and how it’s used. If this product is used correctly it will show correct results.

works with consistent use. This device isn’t a miracle worker, but it assists to heal acne faster. As I’m very acne-prone I’ve used it in my routine nearly every day since I’ve gotten it, and I zap zits diligently twice a day. The battery lasts about a week’s use for me. Large angry pimples used to take a week to heal, now it’s 4-5 days. It can sometimes make smaller pimples that I catch early enough disappear entirely the next day. But I have one grumble, and that’s that the white silicone top surrounding the laser comes off too easily. It started coming off after about 1 month’s use and the adhesive is completely gone after 2 months. I use it carefully, have never dropped it and I rinse off after use as instructions state. It’s very disappointing that the silicone top comes off so quickly when it’s not exactly a cheap item.

I have acne prone areas on my cheek and jawline, which always end up having pus filled pimples growing at those areas. Although these marked areas are still present on my face, but those on my cheek have not flared up since using this device and the ones on my chin deflated from pus filled pimples to a flattened one without squeezing.

Compared to my LUNA 2, this ESPADA requires more frequent charging. Probably because each spot requires 30 seconds so if you have a lot of blemishes like me, you would need to charge it frequently.

I have tried EVERYTHING for my acne. EVERYTHING. Nuetrogena, La Roche-Posay, Differin Gel, Alba Botanica’s acne dote, random stuff from the store, a mix of cetiphil soap and hibbacleanse (is that how you spell it?), and even nothing at all. Everything either gave me a permanent sunburn, made my skin peel/flake, or gave me more acne. Ever since I was 12 years old, I’ve been searching and searching for the right product. I think this is it. I ordered the regular strength travel size, and I love it. The first thing you will notice about Paula’s Choice trial size is that it is, well, tiny. The bottles are VERY small. But don’t let that get you down. I found that the small size is actually helpful, because it helps you conserve the product and not use too much, which could cause irritation. Tip: The instructions on the bottle may not always be the instructions for your skin. What I mean by this is that sometimes we all can be very tempted to follow the “use one to three times a day” instructions the brand gives us, though our skin is individual and unique and may require more or less, depending on skin sensitivity, severity of acne, etc. I started using the cleanser in the evening, then I washed with a normal cleanser the next morning, and then I used the cleanser, toner, and treatment, that evening. The next day, I started using the cleanser and toner in the morning and all three of them at night. That is what I have been doing for the past 3 weeks, and there is still about 1-2 weeks left I think in the bottles! The next thing I want to say is IT DOES NOT WORK MIRACLES! It’s not going to just magically clear up your acne overnight. it’s going to take time, and you’re going to have to have some patience. I’ve been using it for three weeks and have seen some great improvement! But the first 1-4 days I didn’t see much of a difference at all. I have really, really bad acne on the sides of my face and on my chin/jaw area. I get pimples a lot on my cheeks and forehead too, but the chin/jaw and sides of my face near my ears has the worst acne; with bright, big, red and very painful pimples. This acne treatment really helped prevent new pimples from forming, it made the existing ones smaller and less painful, and it makes my skin feel and look way better. I’m not really sure what the anti-redness stuff does, but the other things have helped. One last tip: Make sure you have a good face sunscreen and moisturizer before using this. Benzoyl peroxide is known to dry out your skin and make it more prone to sunburns. So, grab yourself a really great sunscreen that won’t cause acne, and a moisturizer that is you a rich, and non-greasy. I use Alba Botanica’s aloe and green tea moisturizer, and it is absolutely perfect with this product.Bottom Line: Get your skin used to this treatment before you use it full-on, have patience, and team it with good moisture and sun protection!I totally recommend this product, so if you’re still on the fence, GET IT! The trial size is very low-commitment, and won’t make your acne worse, so there’s really no reason NOT to try this! Hope your story is as happy as mine! 🙂

I have been using it for a few weeks on each granite morning and night, up to three times for each one, in those that are not very deep it decreases in 2 days, in the others it costs a little more, but it helps them dry, I would like it to It will help me not to get a mark but that dark tone does not disappear so easily. In general, it seems to me a good option, together with cleaning and helping you with some topical treatment, you can keep unwanted pimples away from your face. You see results, but you have to be very constant.

It works well for acne in adults. I will give it 5 stars for clearing up my acne at 32 years old, but I do suggest finding a good moisturizer for your skin that will not effect the face wash, like a chemical burn or something. Your skin is very sensitive to other products, and it drys out your skin. My advice is to find a good skin routine while using this, just so you dont dry out your skin. I found that Cerave moisturizer works well with hydrating your skin, it feels very smooth, and it works well with this face wash, in my experience, anways. The product does what it’s supposed to do, clear up acne within a week.

Xlent tool to fight acne/pimples. Very efficient over a week. However for acne u will need another treatment in parallel for maximum results

I ordered this set for myself in the winter when I had a bad reaction to the cold weather in Chicago in combination with some inflammation due to tetrinoin use. The cleanser was my favorite part. Very creamy and hydrating, loved it. Works best when you apply to dry skin and massage it in. You can wipe it off with a clean towel because it will soften and losen dead skin and residue and exfoliate. I also used the serum after and during home micro needling sessions, it protected my skin and helped it heal quickly. It really prevented post micro needling moisture loss. My least favorite product in the bundle was the moisturizer, I found it too light and also stings my skin. I prefer, to do ” slugging” with heavier water soluable moisturizing skin balms. This seems like it would be a good light weight moisturizer in the summer months when working out outside…I never tried to wear it with sunscreen though so I don’t know if it would be compatible. But it wasn’t a bad product just not exactly what I was looking for. The ordinary is great because they use glass whenever possible so I prefer thier serums for that reason as well, and they always deliver a quality product at a great price point. The picture is my skin make up free after using these products for a month.

Great set for acne prone skin! All four of these products are great and I have purchased full sizes of all of them! The minis actually last longer than you might think because a little bit goes a long way. The tiny packages are super cute.

I have purchased the cleanser separately in store, but I thought I would buy the pack as I wanted the hyaluronic acid as well. When I went to use the cleanser, I opened the bottle and it started gushing out. I thought that was unusual but thought it might just have been pressure from the shipping process. But I have now had this set for a few weeks and every time I open the cleanser it just spills out. I have bought the cleanser on its own multiple times at Ulta and the consistency is more thick. It is still a balm and comes out easily, but nowhere as easily as what I’ve experienced with this one. I don’t know if I just got a wonky batch, but I will not be repurchasing this set. When I get a proper version of it, this cleanser is my favorite. It is gentle on my skin and leaves it velvety soft but cleanses all makeup when I use it.The hyaluronic acid is great, and exactly like the ones I’ve purchased before.This was my first time trying the moisturizer; and I was underwhelmed. I have pretty dry skin and it leaves my skin feeling a little greasy but still dry. Not what I want from a moisturizer.

i’ve been using these products for 3 weeks so far. i have acne prone skin and sensitive skin, i used to use harsher acne treatments but they left my skin too dry and irritated, so i wanted to try something easier for my skin, so i chose this product.

the products are very gentle (since it’s a centella asiatica and teatree based set) and kept my skin moisturized sooo well!!!!! my skin feels very soft and shiny (i use other products too so im not sure if this is from this tho!)

also, the products smell so good?? like the cleanser and the serum smell SOOO good, even when i was tired i loved these parts of my skincare routine bc i could smell the products and it was soooo good.

though im not giving it 5 stars because it did not fulfill all of my expectations. it indeed reduced my redness, made my skin softer, more hydrated ect, but i still get whiteheads, maybe it’s normal but idk i rlly expected for no more whiteheads to pop up?? i also got a pimple or two (on week 2 and a half) but im not too mad about that bc i wasnt at my place and blabla couldnt do my skincare routine frequently, and also i was on my period so obviously more subject to pimples and blemishes, but like that was only for like 2-3 days?

but also i think it might be because i used to use stronger products, so maybe thats why… either way i still love these products, because my skin STILL did get better and is STILL getting better!!!!! i will keep buying from this brand
