I wish I would have bought this earlier. I have a 3.5L Staub Dutch oven that is too small for big batches of soups/stews – it is very expensive. Started researching on Amazon and saw this product. Thought what the heck, the red color is lovely, reviews are solid, it’s super heavy duty and WOW the price!!! I have used it now for several recipes – it works just as well as the Staub! This cleans up so easily too. I would buy all the sizes. Highly recommend.

As soon as this pot arrived, I started a pot of gumbo. It browned the roux perfectly, heat was evenly distributed. It seems sturdy and will work for a lot of my recipes.

I’ve done all kinds of cooking in this in the two months I’ve owned it, and I’m very happy with it, Solid, well-made, reasonably-priced, and attractive, the 7 quart+ size easily handles large-batch soups, stews, and braises as well as more complex tasks like poaching a whole chicken or large-scale bread-making. While its maximum temperature rating of 450º F is well below the 900º limit of some of the more expensive brands, my oven maxes out at 500º, so this can easily handle anything I’m likely to throw at it, including the high-heat stove-top browning of meat. Highly recommended for anyone needing a king-size dutch oven.

I have wanted a porcelain coated dutch oven for a long time. I would never pay the price for the french brand. My Amazon piece is big (7.3 Qt.). I love the blue color. It’s heavy, as expected. My first dish in it was Chili Colorado. It browned the meat well, slow simmered well and cleaned up with no staining from the red chilies. Treat it right and I expect a long life with it.

I was hesitant to order a cast iron enameled anything that was made by Amazon Basics. I figured I need a Dutch oven and for the price I gave it a shot. How pleasantly surprised I was! The Dutch oven has high quality enamel on the inside as well on the outside. It distributes heat very evenly (checked with infrared thermometer) and is extremely easy to clean, even though it’s heavy but that’s to be expected from anything made out of cast iron. The only slight little complaint I might have which applies to all cast iron Dutch ovens is that they rust where the lid touches the pan itself. It is easily rectified by applying some mineral oil, or any sort of oil in a pinch to prevent it. I will update this review in a few years with more pictures to see how it stands the test of time.

I bought this instead of a Le Creuset pan. This one is just as nice and sooooo much cheaper. I’m not an accomplished cook so maybe those who know how to cook could tell a difference between the pans but I can not. This one is perfect. And I love the color!

I’ve used Le Crustet cookware over several decades of amateur cooking (73 y/o retired guy here) and certainly have no boeuf (sorry, couldn’t help myself) with the performance/quality of their product. This dutch oven is its equal and at a considerable savings. I purchased one as a gift for my daughter two (2) years ago and used hers while she was out of the country for several months. Based on that experience I treated myself to my own and can happily verify that the shoe still fits. IMPORTANT: use non-metallic utensils (spoons, stirrers, etc.) or you *will* scratch the finish. Even with incidental scratches this baby maintains its efficacy.

I’ve have always wanted a large 7.5 qt enameled cast iron Dutch Oven, but been put off by the costs of the brands. I discovered by accident that Amazon had its own brand of cook wares at a price that cannot be beat; in fact lowest on Amazon (I think). I’ve been using the pot now for two months and love it. The size is perfect for soups, stews and pot roasts all of which I’ve been making. The pot holds heat and cleans up easily as it should. If you want a proper Dutch Oven this one should be on your list.

I don’t think you can beat the value of this dutch oven. I have used it many times and it looks brand new. It cleans up very easily. It heats evenly. I bought the 6-quart size it’s a great versatile size. The matte white is as expected – bright white and matte. I gifted one to my sister and she loves it also.
