This is a piece of crap
I bought this as I needed a laptop to access Word, having worked with a Chromebook for some time. Alas, this poor machine, while it does have access to Word, is slow slow slow. You get it going and the fan starts blowing – this is consistent – which necessitates starting again. I got in the habit of starting it, then restarting it to dump any junk that was there. The popup that “something is taking a while to appear” consistently appears frequently when looking for something online. Word works, that’s fine, but restarting several times seems to be the order of the day. Once it’s working, it’s great. If that helps.

not touch screen
i knew that of course but i love everything about it and wish it was touch screen. enough storage for storage, speakers could be better/more audio but its enough. other than those two less than wonderful aspects, I love it. the backlit keyboard, the screen size is just perfect, the keyboard has all the essentials, the casing material is like brushed chrome… really nice. was easy to set up. i removed it from S mode right away because I wanted to download brave and google and some other apps not supported but I could have stayed in S mode completely.

I really like it
I bought this laptop because it has a backlit keyboard and a usb-c connection that can plug into my work’s port and use their two monitors. That all works well. The speakers aren’t very good but it works fine with earbuds or a small speaker I bought for it. The games I’m playing suggest Ryzen 5 and this has Ryzen 3, and I’ve noticed very slight drag times now and then. 95% works like a Ryzen 5. It doesn’t have enough memory for all the games I want so I’ll be buying a portable hard drive for them.

Great Laptop, Bad Battery
I got this refurbished laptop on Prime Day because it was a competitive price for a good laptop. When it arrived, it had some issues turning on. Upon research, the most likely issue was the battery, so I went through the pain and suffering of removing it, which resolved all issues. I’m disappointed that the item was shipped to me with evident start-up issues and an apparently bad battery. However, I need this laptop for work now, and it works great plugged in. In terms of the actual laptop itself, I’m very pleased – however, its frustrating to pay the money, only to have to troubleshoot it immediately.

Awesome value/deal.
This laptop is perfect for what I need. The previous I had started failing until it completely stopped working; it was quite old too. This new one runs smooth and fast. I only use it for typing my business reports, shopping, and some entertainment.It is super light since it is quite thin and not to big. That makes even better for me since I tend to take it almost everywhere I go.The image, video, and sound quality are impressive. Maybe other more expensive ones are way more than that but since what I previously had was somewhat an antique this feels superb.

Power problems in new Acer laptop
Bought the Acer Aspire 515-46 6 weeks ago. Yesterday it just shut off twice, I had to hold down the start button to restart. Today it just shut off and will not start. Charging light goes from red to blue while charging but start button does nothing. Holding down start for 30 seconds the blue light will briefly flash about every twenty seconds but does not start. Battery reset with paper clip does nothing. My first Acer had a battery problem after years of working well. If you buy, take out the longest warranty offered.

So the notebook arrived quickly but all the software was super old, everything had to be updated and there was an EXPIRE office subscription on the pc???!! also the headphone jack doesn’t work. i reached out to the seller and amazon no response as of yet. I hope they can fix the issues or replace this useless piece of plastic. disapointed at ACER and this horrible seller

Don’t buy!
I have had this laptop for less then a week. The day I got it I set it up and it was working great. Less than 24 hours it will not load pass the logo screen. Apparently this is a major problem with acer!

Instead of purchasing an Acer, go outside and throw your money into the nearest sewer drain.
Product stopped working after 3 months. I tried to contact Acer, they have no interest in helping. Amazon ALSO doesn’t want to help.Instead of purchasing an Acer, I recommend finding a stranger, giving them half the cost of the product, and then asking them to kick you really hard in the groin.

Battery and sound
Battery life is HORRIBLE, 500 some dollars for not even 1 hour before it dies. Are you kidding me? The sound quality is also a joke. Sounds very muffled (speakers are under it) and like a tin can. Gets hot really quick. Turn it on, sign in, and type in what I want on the search bar and it’s pretty warm. Definitely returning it. It’s appearance is nice tho, very clean.

Horrible battery, broke one month after buying it. I have had the same issue with the same laptop before and I bought a new one and the same thing happened. Would not recommend at all. Save your money and buy another brand .

Buyer beware
It did not work from the get go. Froze up, never loaded. Requested refund, took to UPS and they never acknowledged they received it. Thank goodness I bought it on Amazon or I doubt I would have gotten my money refunded.

Only worked one day
I received the laptop and started the setup process. Everything seemed fine. Tried to start the computer the next day. At the point where I input my password, the screen would go black. I still had a visible cursor, but could do nothing. I repeatedly restarted the computer, only to get to this point and a black screen. Escape, control alt delete, nothing worked to get anything else to the screen. Just didn’t work.

A great buy
This laptop is quiet and quick. It functions well and can handle multiple things at once-no lag. I was hesitant purchasing an acer product due to me not owning one prior. It is powerful and you get more bang for your buck. No scratches, dings, or dents. It was easy to take it out of safe mode.

Not as advertised.
Just get something else. It’s advertised as having a 3.5 GHz processor and it came with a crappy 2.1 GHz processor. Doesn’t have a touchscreen like it says on the website which entirely defeats the purpose for me as I got it for drawing.Contacted acer and they said that the warranty is voided because it was upgraded by the user, so be aware that the warranty will be voided. Had to get a return from Amazon, absolutely outrageous that this costs 500 USD for a processor that can only browse the internet, games on Steam run HORRIBLY.

This computer works great I found that I can use it for most attacks I need it for I probably should have gotten something a little bit stronger to do video editing but outside of video editing this works very well it’s very good for music editing but just not video which is what I wanted it for.

The laptop is being used for astronomy data gathering. I needed data storage and mine had 1tb SSD. CPU is okay. Excellent onboard video and very lightweight. The battery power is okay for me as I don’t require an all day laptop. I’m using about 5 hours on my battery and I believe I still have 45% battery life left. Thank you

Really fast, not sure about . . .
This Acer laptop arrived three days ago — a day before it was scheduled to — and I have no complaints, to speak of, yet. It is faster than any computer I have ever owned, though that isn’t saying much. But it _is_ really fast.Folks have complained about the battery life. I suppose it depends on what you use it for– me, I’m not a gamer. My old Aspire 1 didn’t have a strong battery, but I think this model has a better one. I can certainly get more than three hours from it without a charge (though I can’t imagine when I would ever be using this computer for more than three hours without access to an outlet –I’m an old white guy for whom, for instance, typing away on the beach for more than three hours would be a major skin-cancer risk, and doing so on a plane would make me air-sick).I have some concern, too, about the provenance of this computer. Apparently, it has been upgraded by the the seller, which may mean it has no warranty that Acer would honor. But, then, I’m not sure how much honor I should expect from Acer or any [fill in the blank] . . .Overall, though, I am utterly delighted with this purchase and am not yet experiencing any buyer’s remorse whatsoever.

Gets the job done, misleading touchscreen advertisement
I saw the fingerprint icon and assumed it meant the computer had a touchscreen. There was a little confusion when I realized it meant that it had fingerprint identification. Otherwise, it is a pretty decent computer and gets the job done good enough.

The battery will not last you as much as advertised
The battery is not what’s advertised but it’s to be expected with Acer Laptop’s expect 3 maybe 2 hours or battery depending on the use, aside from that it’s what you expect.Build quality let’s a bit to desire, do not expect the same build as a apple product, you can tell it’s plastic with a weird glittery finish.Charger has thin weird connector and it’s the main fault with the build of the PC as it’s the first thing that breaks acordding to the internet, which you can almost immediately see why when you see it, it looks fragile.Display is actually decent and impressive.Overall good to ok
