EXCELLENT AND SIMPLE. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] There isn’t much I can say about this Panini press and grill. The first time I used it, I messed up and tried to grill chicken breasts that were too big for the grill.
However the next time, I made me some hot ham and cheese sandwiches on it and they came out perfectly.
Literally all you have to do, is plug it in, let it heat up for a minute, put whatever you are cooking on the grill plate, close the lid and wait for the green light to come on which is saying that your food is ready. When you are finished and the appliance is completely cooled down, make sure it is unplugged and then just wipe the grill plates off with a damp cloth.
This is by far one of the simplest kitchen appliances I own. I would just make sure that what you are wanting to cook on it, will actually fit before you attempt to cook the food on it.
I would highly recommend this product to anyone wanting just a small indoor grill or an easy and quick way to make paninis or like hot ham and cheese sandwiches.

Great machine except for cleaning. This was a replacement for a lower level Proctor Silex panini/sandwich machine. We use these for virtually everything.. steaks, burgers, salmon fillets, hot dogs, grilled veggies and pineapple, sandwiches.. and I’m probably forgetting things. Being able to cook from both sides saves both time and effort and the temperature control is nice. The reason I deducted a star is cleanup. Ugh! The grooves are so deep that this is miserable to clean. They do provide a scraper/spatula but it doesn’t do a great job. (Mine came without it and Proctor Silex was great about sending me one for free). It also includes two cups to put under the corners of the machine to drain grease. The pullout drawer on the lower level machine is nicer but wouldn’t work with this because it opens all the way up. If this came with removable plates for easy cleaning, I’d give it ten stars.

This product is super easy to clean as it comes with an attachable that goes in and out and collects the crumbs and other dirt. This is super nice, I have not tried the grill setting yet but the panini part works well!

Amazing!
It’s super easy. I would recommend halfway through the cooking, rotate the sandwich so it’s evenly smashed on the whole sandwich and not just pushed to one side. Tastes great. Takes awhile to cool down. Make sure you unplug it right after use so it can began to cool. Love it!

When it is plugged in it’s on!
This is a good basic unit. You do need to remember that if it is plugged in it’s on. There is no on off button and you can’t turn it down until you’re ready. I can do two sandwiches if they are regular bread sized. With pita or naan, it’s easier to do one at a time. It heats up quickly, browns nicely and is easy to clean up. It also doesn’t take up much space. Overall I’m happy.

Bought this and absolutely love it. Heats up quick toasts everything to a perfect crunch and love the fact that the lip swivels so your bread is evenly pressed. Perfect for two sandwiches at a time. I use this press for everything! I toast sandwiches, cook hot dogs and spam slices, reheat chile rellenos, make quesadillas, etc etc. it gets pretty warm in just a couple minutes but I’ve never burned anything I’ve cooked in it. Sandwiches just get more and more toasty but don’t burn. I love this thing!

Small and great for uni dorm!
I bought this for my dorm room (not really allowed but I hid it) and used it for everything – heating sandwiches, croissants, and it gets so hot that I was able to even cook chicken and meat there lol. The temperature control feature is not the best but honestly, I don’t think it ever works on any device so I really don’t look at it and it doesn’t bother me. This panini does heat up very quickly so when you are heating something like bread keep an eye on it because it toasts and burns fast. It has a great little “trash” hole at the bottom where you can throw in the crumbs or anything else afterwards. The crumbs then fall into a little “drawer”/box so you can just pull that out and throw out the crumbs. Overall, highly recommend it, I like it better than a toaster. Let it cool down before putting away or cleaning.

Recently I’ve become a fan of panini sandwiches. Like who doesn’t like a delicious sandwich, melted cheese and warm when eating?! Raise your hands!! hahah I love it. Bought this in the summer (2019) used it enough times to finish two sliced cheese packets from Costco… now it’s in the closet while I try to lose some weight. Once I get down to my ideal weight, I’ll be back to making sandwiches!!Cons:1. It’s not the easiest to clean though. You have to balance the two lids to stay open, hold the cord between your stomach and the sink so it doesn’t get wet and scrub a few times to get the stuff off between each raised part of the press.2. It’s super stinky when first opening. I washed mine like 5 times!! Be sure to run it without anything on the press a few times first. Try to get rid of the smell before cooking… who knows what that’s from?! You don’t want it in your body.However, even with all that difficulty cleaning and the smell… for the price and the quality, I’d totally recommend this product and would buy again.

Didn’t like the way it squished the sandwich
I’ll be honest and say I’ve only used a few times for grilled cheese sandwiches but it squished them so bad it looked like they had been run over. Haven’t tried it on other foods/sandwiches because of that. I actually gave it to my daughter because didn’t want to mess with it anymore

EASIEST WAY TO CLEAN!!!
I bought this for my husband last christmas because it was just some cheapo easy present. Every comment i saw on here was related to how its hard to clean. So after using this thing for almost everything, i have finally found the easiest way to clean it. After i finish using it i let it cool down, closed. I then let it re-heat for a minute or so, and then take a shot glass of water and pour it over the plates, close it and let it boil/steam the hard stuff off. Empty the grease catcher and repeat once more. I use a heat resistant rubber basting brush and push it all into the catcher. Then wipe down like normal. The only reason i give it three stars for temp control is because there is none. When its green its ready, like pancake griddles. I LOVE THIS THING!

Great if you have low expectations
Yes, it heats nicely and has room for two sandwiches. It has a drip drawer in the front, but unfortunately no elevated edge in the back. Cheese kept dripping off that edge and nothing ended up in the tray. Sort of hard to guess when the panini sandwich is done and I found the machine does not brown well although I had buttered the bread slices on the outside. Beats using a frying pan and sandwich came out acceptable. I give it four stars because it stores sideways not taking much room, but realistically it deserves only three solid stars.

Great little press
This is a great little sandwich press at a very reasonable price. Nothing fancy, gets the job done. Easy to wipe off grills after use, non stick surface is great even burned cheese is no problem to remove. It’s small, the perfect size for a single person or couple. It will hold 2 regular size sandwiches or a couple of burger patties. Works great for grilled cheese, english muffin breakfast sandwiches, etc. The lid “floats” well so you can use it for thicker things just fine. It does have a short cord for safety (not an issue for me) and there is no power switch so you just unplug when you are done. No complaints, would buy again.

Great for small spaces
Bought this for my daughter who loves paninis but doesn’t have a lot of storage in her kitchen. It is pretty compact and she loves it. Easy to clean and make a great sandwich. The only thing that she would change is there is no way to control the temperature – it’s “on” or “off” so for now, it works and hopefully will for a long time. For the price, it makes a great sandwich and would recommend it.

This is perfect for heating up one sandwich or panini at a time. very simple design and easy to use. wish it had a temp control and heavier top lid. heavier in the sense that it would do a better job pressing larger (burrito-like wraps) into paninis. Overall though – very user-friendly and does a great job for the price.

Great little sandwich maker/grill.
I’ve only had this sandwich maker a few days and I’ve already used it about 5 times!! It makes great panini sandwiches in about 3 minutes! After making a sandwich there is almost no clean-up time. A quick 5 second wipe down with a damp paper towel and I was done. I cooked chicken breasts with it as well, and the clean up time for that was a bit longer. It cooked the breasts all the way through in about 10 minutes! Next I’m going to try a steak.

MAJOR design flaw!!!
First, there is no temperature control, which I knew when I bought it. The surprise was in using it: if you make anything except a sandwich, it spits grease all over the counter. As if that wasn’t fun enough to clean, the only way to clean this thing is, once it’s cool enough, is with a waste of paper towels PLUS when you open it to clean it. if there’s any grease on the inside lid (let’s say you made a burger), it leaks all out of the back onto the counter. This one will be shelved for days we only want sandwiches.

Works Well So Far
I got it to replace my old grill that could no longer be repaired. I thought I would miss have a temperature control, but it gets plenty hot. I toasted 2 sandwiches together for 5 minutes and they were just right. I also cooked about 4 chicken tenders at a time for 7 minutes and they were done. I like that it is easy to store and a lot lighter to carry than my old one. I also like that it has a latch to keep it closed and a removable grease reservoir. The only thing I wish that it had was removable plates like my old one so it would be easier to clean. Overall, I am very happy with it so far.

First time I have a panini press and finally decided to get one. This model had good reviews and priced right. Good panini maker, but there are better
Overall this is a decent panini press and I enjoy the sandwiches I make with it a lot. But I have to say we also have the Hamilton Beach Electric Panini Press and it’s just better. I think it might get hotter, which browns the bread better and makes it more crispy and melty, which is what you really want in a good panini. This press is decent, but I’d recommend the Hamilton Beach instead, and it looks great in red BTW.

Easy to use and clean
This item is great all around. It is easy to use, turn on wait for the green light to turn on and boom, use it. Around 2 minutes have been good enough for just cheese inside. Clean up is pretty easy, you do have to wait to cool down then just wipe, I use water a very little dish soap but then make sure there is no soap left with a wet paper towel. I have tried several types of bread, nothing more than sandwich bread thick. All have cooked well, I do find that if you press the panini maker down all the way it makes a better but do wished it browned more. The sandwiches get soggy if packing in the lunch for work/school but makes great sandwiches at home.

Dries out the bread
I don’t like this panini press because it dries out the moisture from my bread & flattens it. I’m returning it for a normal sandwich maker.

Nice appliance, but hard to clean
Not supposed to immerse this appliance to clean it, but almost impossible to do a good job cleaning it without resorting to putting just about the whole thing under a stream of water in order to rinse. It functions perfectly, and I use it primarily to cook salmon filets, which it does to perfection…and no sticking on the coated grates. The one drawback is when its time to clean it. Not easy, and you can’t give it a thorough cleaning if you don’t subject it to a rinsing that might actually introduce water into places where water should not be….This might not be an issue for heating dry bread, etc, but it surely is with moist foods

Great economical press
Makes great sandwiches every time. Never burns. You do have to watch it as the timing is all manual – but as long as you aren’t an idiot that expects everything to be idiot-proofed for you – this works great.
