It works, but its not great.

Not sure why this is getting so many 5 star reviews. Looking at most of them it appears the average person has no standards or strict requirements. Either that or the site is in fact purging low reviews, something they’ve been accused of before.The camera quality is mediocre. Which is not acceptable since it was made in 2020. We have much better quality sensors these days. Videos look pixelated and sometimes blurry, often too sharp. Not sharp as in good but sharp as in they over sharpen the video to make it appear good.The thing stops recording immediately when power dies which I absolutely hate. In a collision or during some other emergency I might want it to keep recording for a minute or two after power is cut off. If only to make it easier for police to find my attacker. This thing, like all other modern dash cams, really needs a battery so it can record a little while after power is disconnected. Again mostly for collisions but also possibly if I get mugged or murdered after turning off the engine.The video format is terrible. Something called TS which I never heard of. Not only is video quality terrible but it sucks up 100 megabytes per minute, which is absolutely horrible compression for the modern era. They should be using something like x265. If you want to keep video from a short time ago, you either need to remove the micro SD card immediately after witnessing a road accident, or purchase a really large card. Like 64GB or higher.The menu is overly complicated and not easy to navigate. But if you are willing to dig around you do have plenty of options. The screen on the unit is just OK. And can be disabled.The large rectangular mount is actually pretty sturdy. But I’ve never been in a collision with this camera so I do not know how it holds up to bumps and hits. They do include a decent length power cord.Overall, not too impressed. Especially for the 219 I paid, and all the positive reviews.

Es un asco .its nasty

Primero tuve que comprarlo por que se me hizo una opción relevante a otros articulos no era lo que buscaba .hice una compra la cual no llego por el mal manejo en bodega de amazon ellos mismos lo rompieron y ellos mismos lo cancelaron ok. Tuve que comprar otro mientras esperaba el reembolso claro llego ayer lo medio instalo y pruebo el wifi el cual es un asco no puedo ver el carro desde mi casa como esperaba hoy osea al día siguiente voy a ver la camara esta apagada intento entrar nuevamente por mi celular ok intento usar la aplicación que recomienda que es mtcam o algo asi y no me da acceso .uso el qr ese código lo escaneo y no lo escanea en pocas palabras solo sirve para grabar cuando vas manejando o usando la tarjeta de memoria de allí al wifi y conección al internet es un asco una porquería como sea tengo 30 para devolverlo si miro que sigue montada en su macho la voy a devolver no me sirve no ay tal wifi no ay coneccion falla mucho .aparte te ofresen la compra de la tarjeta el cable adaptador y la dash cam pero ridiculos el cable tarda 2semanas para enviartelo es ridiculo si lo esta comprando uno al mismo tiempo con la dash cam y es necesario deverian enviarlo juntos los tres .como sea es un mal negocio como dije tengo 30 dias para devolverlo lo pondre a prueva si comtinua asi lo regreso no sirve tirar a la basura 200 dollares por una porqueria de basura y mas que nada china incluso muchos chinos no quieren comprar sus productos

Good quality for a self install dash cam

Overall great product. Easy to install myself. The cord in some areas was too much to tuck/hide, so the excess was tucked into the globe box and behind the fold down seats. I did play some of the old videos from some rides. The sound and picture quality is amazing! I choose not to screw in the back camera, but to tap it to the back window and it holds up well, though later I had to use some extra tap to keep it at an angle I prefer otherwise the front of the camera falls down.

Worked fine until recently

The dash cam was great. The video quality was nice but suddenly it no longer records and I keep getting Chinese letters stating the account has been disconnected, parking monitor is in progress, and operation is prohibited. Rexing’s customer service is terrible. Not worth the money I spent to have these problems.

Defective after short time of active usage

After a short period of time, the unit stopped functioning entirely. Whenever I press a button, a black text box with Asian lettering pops up. Such a waste of money.

Doesn’t work

Don’t buy this. I purchased it on my trucking company and the app is a joke all it is is a bunch of ads and it continues to come out of where it is plugged in

Software hardware failures

I have had this product for a couple of years now. First thing I noticed was that the video is very choppy. There is a very noticable freeze in the picture every few seconds.The most irritating thing is that after using the unit for a little over a year the software and/or hardware glitches. With no notification the unit will look like it is recording but actually is not. It will at times not overwrite a full SD card. Noticed this when I looked for a recording of someone almost side swiping me one morning. Very irrititated to find out the unit stopped recording weeks prior even though it was indicating it was.After I noticed that I began to see the unit power cycle after the ignition was turned off. ( I have the power kit installed so it has constant power when the ignition is on) It would not stop doing so unless I disconnected the power. Eventually this would not reset the unit and now every few days the unit hard glitches and loses the date and reverts back to Chinese on the screen. I have to do a hard rest using the concealed button on the left side of the unit and then do a software reset to return to factory settings (which I did not ever change) to get the unit to work properly again. Real blast the first few times trying navigate the menus with only Chinese symbols showing. This is now a every two to three day occurance.I can deal with the choppy video but the other issues runined it for me. Im ready to rip it out of the truck. Something that costs >$200 should work properly for more than just a year or two. I will not buy another one of their products as a result.

Stay Away!

First of all I’d like to say my wife may have received a bad unit and that’s why the video quality was so slow and terrible. There are 2 reasons why we didn’t RMA the main unit for another one and I actually just uninstalled and returned the whole thing and will never buy another Rexing.1. The mounting plate is flat. There is no tilt and pivot. There is no is no plastic adapter pieces for windshields of different angles.. Hers pointed literally straight down in a Lexus LX350. When installed you literally could not see the screen without sticking your head up over the dash, under the rear view mirror and looking up.2. The app that you see on the images is fraudulent. That is not what you get at all. You get a quickly thrown together very plain piece of junk it doesn’t work. I can not possibly imagine how this thing has a high rating with 556 reviews and these extra views and less they’re all related to company employees!
